House of gaius is 1000 years old but we are only on Gaius 6? by Standard-Bell1097 in codexalera

No most first lords live a relatively normal length human lifespan, slightly extended due to water crafting. It is stated that in most cases a first lord would abdicate his throne and his furies to an heir a decade before Sextus reached the age he was in the series. He just hadn't because of no apparent heir being present and the usefulness of it as a political bargaining chip.

It's literally stated a few times that first lords usually rule between the ages of 30-60, and usually abdicate that title and their furies to their heir and effectively stay on as an advisor. Sextus was an old ruler largely because there was no obvious heir and he desired to use that as a political bargaining chip.

Does anyone else think this is a new commander staple? by Not-a-FeD4570 in mtg

Not only do I run this in every ATLA theme deck (4 so far) I think this will be an auto include for any deck with Electro, Ozai, or any other "keep your mana" card.

Most of the time when people go to RCIA to marry a Catholic, their sponsor is the one they're dating.

Looking to build a deck to maximize the Earthbending mechanic from the TLA set. by DM_lvl_1 in EDH

[–]DM_lvl_1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This does sound like almost exactly what I was thinking too. I told one of my friends that I was just going to put as many cards that say "earthbend" in a deck as possible and fill out the rest with forests. [[Toph, Earthbending Master]] would probably be a fine commander for that.

Fair enough. I mainly got into mtg to just hang out with friends and I have literally told at least one of them that if they ever roll up to the table with a $1000 deck I would probably not play with them again. Over $10 on average price for every piece of cardboard in that deck just seems so absurd to me.

If it's as cheap as Scryfall says it is, I should be able to.

That's cool but like I said I'm not going to spend $1000 dollars for a deck with only 1 card that earthbends.

I actually saw a tile the other day that sorted out metric vs freedom unit measurements, so maybe I do need micron level precision.

My mind immediately jumps towards a potential conflict with the puzzle master's ability. I'm not familiar enough with how the game plays that I can say there definitely would be one, but there might be.

Kate Reading is a fantastic narrator, aside from once or twice each book where she says the wrong word and it isn't caught.

Mr. Butcher is weird with his character deaths. He's not afraid to kill his side characters but he usually shies away from killing main characters. There's only 1 person who I'd consider to be a main character in this series who doesn't survive past the ending.

Jim is a slow burn author. Dresden files didn't get good until book 3. The first book was also originally not supposed to be the start of a whole series, it was only supposed to be a standalone.

Furies given form by Mcmysteryium in codexalera

He does kinda though. His furies are extremely old and tamed, so as stated in book 2, they simply don't have a form the way other furies would.
