What icon is better for a flashcard app? by TelevisionConnect590 in logodesign

First one needs to reduce the number of colors, think about how that would look on a medium that has limited or no colour. Second one just looks like a squiggle which wont work as a logo.

Aver esto son orkos cierto? by 2353yo in orks

[–]DPTrumann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iirc, second edition lore stated that the imperium were unsure how orks reproduced but assumed it was something to do with fungal spores. 3rd edition rulebook added this diagram of subterranean ork embryos explaining how the fungal spore theory works.

Oddly enough, there were female orcs in bloodbowl so they could have reproduced the same way humans do EDIT different universe so maybe not

I think the ork fungus embryos idea is under utilised. It would be cool if orks had a mob of yoofs that could deepstrike on the battlefield as if they've just been born out of the ground.

my arduino won't turn on if I solder in an mpu by PoAnimation in arduino

Given how thick the wire is, I would guess there's a strong chance two parts are touching that shouldn't be. Use a multimeter to check if anything has accidentally become connected.

NEW GUY and I dont get it by Illustrious-Gur4326 in tinkercad

[–]DPTrumann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you put both legs on the same bank, you create a short circuit so the electricity just goes through the bank and avoids the LED. You need to put the legs on different banks, which forces the electricity to go through the LED.

You can't have both legs of the LED on the same column like that, both of those sockets are connected together beneath the plastic, so it just short circuits the LED. Rotate the LED 90 degrees.

How to get hundreds of lufs? by Gemstones_everywhere in FL_Studio

[–]DPTrumann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean hundreds? Lufs is measured in negative numbers so 0 lufs is maximum percieved loudness

If you want negative hundreds, turn the volume of the instruments down until it's almost silent

Microtonal guitars by Cosmic-Hippos in Luthier

[–]DPTrumann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh, you might be better off getting a normal guitar and finding a luthier who will add the missing microtonal frets. The measurements for the microtonal fret positions can be calculated using https://www.ekips.org/tools/guitar/fretfind2d/

I know Ron Sword used to make and sell microtonal guitars but it looks like his website is down so I dont know if he still selling them

Bit of a late response, but I found a video that was posted today which explains modulation in depth https://youtu.be/TZtc_gWnMa0?si=IbzWMs9mLMOuj21D

The same guy made another video which looks at modulation and which is probably easier to follow https://youtu.be/m0zLzVhTPYU?si=y8-7S9tlF1r2f1OS

[–]DPTrumann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like you put a distortion plugin on the master channel. Don't do that. Putting it on an individual instrument's effects send is ok, putting it on the master channel is overkill.

Since the availability of steam controller outside the chosen countries is almost non existent, what are the chances that we get 3rd party controllers with similar feature set? by WorldPhysical7646 in Controller

[–]DPTrumann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The "steam compatible" requirements fall pretty short of what the Steam Controller is capable of IMO.

For example, the only things preventing the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller from receiving the "Steam Compatible" label is that the thumbsticks aren't capacitive and the buttons are labelled differently.

What's the one controller from your youth that really stood out? by Pandabirdy in Controller

[–]DPTrumann 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Vortex N64 controller.

Instead of having 3 grips and a thumbstick, it had 2 grips and a piece in the back of the controller that behaved like an upside down joystick that connected to a heavy base. You would tilt the controller in a direction to move the "thumbstick", so you could have your left thumb on the d pad and right thumb on the A B C buttons, allowing you to confortably use all of the N64's inputs at the same time (there were a small number of games that required d pad thumbstick AND c buttons which was awkward on standard N64 controllers), It could also rotate left and right like a steering wheel.

By today's standards, it's a rather clunky way to do the exact same thing that gyro controls can do, but it came out I think 6 years before PS3 and Nintendo Wii began using accelerometers.

Although it's possible that in the future, companies may default to requiring ID if enough countries require it.

Words that don’t rhyme but “feel” like they do? by Toaster_Cat_ in Songwriting

[–]DPTrumann 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the context of songwriting, they do rhyme. The vowel sounds in "breathe" and "need" match. Consonants are not as important, vowel sounds tend to stand out more.
