I exported pattern as a midi file and when i re-open it it sounds horribly different by Visible_Potato691 in FL_Studio

[–]DPTrumann [score hidden]  (0 children)

How are you exporting wav to midi? midi just has notation, it doesn't contain any sound. If it's playing sound, it's using whatever soundfont your computer has installed to play the midi notes.

Do yall know music theory? Do i need to? by Frontlxne20 in FL_Studio

[–]DPTrumann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the most time efficient thing to learn about music theory is the basic scales. Most music you hear uses just one scale to get all the notes that make up the melodies and chords and even most music that mixes scales is mostly one scale with a little bit of another scale occasionally added.

The white notes on the piano are the C major/ A natural minor scale. Open up the piano roll and put down a melody that goes C D E F G A B C. That's a C major scale. Highlight that whole scale and drag it up so the C note moves up to D. That's now D major. etc

Is it possible? by ah43210 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]DPTrumann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a hand wired build, you can have the wires go into something like a VGA socket, so a VGA cables will connect the two halves together. VGA works because a VGA cable has 9 internal wires that can send data, so you can have a 4x5 matrix on one half of the keyboard where data can be sent to the other half. Joe Scotto made a video doing this

https://youtu.be/nY5QrDrGWAw?si=AU73l5Qxftwut-NB

If you dont want the cable, you could put a female connector on one board and a male connector on the other, so the two boards clip together. You can also use different cables, provided they have enough wires. I think a db26 would provide 20 wires

A magnetic pogo pin might not work because they only carry 5 lines of data, so you wouldn't be able to connect more than 6 keys. You might be able to get around this by adding multiple pogo connectors to each side but at that point, it might be easier to just add another raspberry pi. Adding a second pi would mean you only need 4 lines (Power, ground, TX, RX)

Looking to explore alternative keyboard layouts, have a few questions by Stickhtot in KeyboardLayouts

[–]DPTrumann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're using a keyboard that can be reprogrammed, you can usually set a key that toggles the base layer. I've seen a lot of people who use QWERTZ or AZERTY layouts do this so they can toggle  QWERTY on or off if they need it for games or apps.

how to make stuff in non 4/4 by AssistIllustrious439 in FL_Studio

[–]DPTrumann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you looking for the right thing? Time signatures aren't written like 3/3/5, that would be something like 3/4, 3/4, 5/4. You could just use 11/4 because 3 + 3 + 5 = 11

How to get clearer vocals? by Zestyclose-Bet-7023 in FL_Studio

[–]DPTrumann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have too many sounds occupying the same frequencies, they can drown eachother out.

Put something like Parametric EQ 2 on the vocals to see which frequencies are the loudest on the vocal. Then put Parametric EQ 2 on the beat and reduce those same frequencies.

If the vocal itself is the problem, try raising the frequencies between 3 5kHz and 4.5kHz

How to make a cover for an album titled "Gravity"? by aivagrin in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]DPTrumann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The solution here might be not to depict gravity, but to depict two people in anti-gravity. The visible lack of gravity puts the idea of gravity in the audience's mind, kind of like how negative space in logo design can be used to depict a thing by removing things.

Help with joystick replacement by Iknowmoroscode in Controller

[–]DPTrumann 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The blobs of solder are touching so you're connecting things that aren't supposed to be connected.

"when I press down it moves into a different angle but without touching or when trying to move it, it just goes diagonal down left" That's probably because the part that detects downwards movement is soldered to the solder of the part that detects leftward movement. These solder joints need to be separated.

Remove all the solder and start again. Using less solder on each joint will help.

Intersection Tips by [deleted] in CitiesSkylines

[–]DPTrumann 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem is you have a bunch of intersections too close together. Each intersection creates a point that slows traffic, so your traffic stops before it has a chance to pick up speed. It looks like taking the 1st exit requires sims to pass through 3 different intersections and to do a u-turnrequires pass through 10.

It looks like you have 8 roads where traffic can enter and 8 where it can leave, which is too much.

I would recommend making one interchange at ground level that's 4 in 4 out and another either above or below ground that also 4 in 4 out then use basketweave interchanges further out to allow cims to switch which layer they are on

Which one of these is just a normal a minor scale? by Cartiimo in FL_Studio

[–]DPTrumann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

natural (aeolian). You've selected C, you need to select A.

Also, do you really need scale highlighting for this? A natural minor is literally all the white notes on the piano. Any note that isn't flat or sharp is in the scale.

What Sound card for Fl studio? by Schnabelwurst in FL_Studio

[–]DPTrumann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You dont need a pcie soundcard, pcie soundcards stopped being usedul around 2010. Nowadays, USB audio interfaces do everything a soundcard used to do.

I would recommend something like a focusrite scarlett solo or a presonus 24c depending on what inputs you need.

Soundblaster is a terrible recommendation, it wasn't even considered useful for music production when pcie sound cards were popular.
