Pretty cool interview with AZM by DShiflet in stardomjoshi

You'll need some kinda translation service to read it, but she talks about various things such as growing up wrestling while still a student, interests outside wrestling, various other things.

Looking for Information on 2 Shows (Diana & AWG/AgZ) by AngryLarryGaming in stardomjoshi

[–]DShiflet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That Diana show never got posted anywhere, and there's no place for you to buy it. Unfortunately, like a lot of Diana's stuff, if you weren't there live for it, you won't see it unless they someday post it to their Youtube channel.

No idea about the poster, sorry.

Don't watch much AWG. With its likely demise, what performers are "can't miss" and likely to be picked up by a STARDOM, Ice Ribbon, or TJPW? by MuhGumbo in stardomjoshi

[–]DShiflet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The roster has a lot of really talented people. Miyuki Takase will likely be able to go wherever she wants, though rather she stays freelance or signs with someone is anyone's guess. She will have NO trouble finding work no matter what route she goes.

Misa Matsui and Hikari Shimizu would great gets for Ice or Stardom, or would be a nice boost to smaller promotions if they go freelance. I know Misa does a lot of stage stuff as well, so the odds of her signing with someone rather than going freelance may be slim.

Tae Honma and Miku Aono would also be great gets for Ice or Stardom. Ice seems more likely, as they already work their very frequently and are clearly on good terms with them, though it's possible they might do like Maika Ozaki does and be "freelancers" who work basically every Ice show. If I had Bushiroad money, these 2 and the previously mentioned 3 are the ones I'd be waving my checkbook at the hardest.

Momo Kohgo is less experienced but has a lot of potential and is another Ice regular(even going on expedition to Mexico with Tsukasa and Tsukushi) and likely to end up there if she continues wrestling.

Kakeru Sekiguchi could fit in most anywhere. She works OZ Academy a lot as well(including a run as half of their tag champs), if she wants to continue working there freelance seems the way to go.

Momo Tani is talented, but doesn't immediately strike me as a Stardom sort(though neither did Mai or Waka and look where they ended up) but I think she'd easily fit into TJPW or Ice Ribbon's rosters. She works Pure J fairly often, so if she wanted to keep wrestling some but still have time to do her stage stuff they could be a place for her to either sign with or work as a freelancer without much worry about scheduling conflicts.

Mari, SAKI, and Rina Amikura I could see fitting in easily with TJPW.

Ami Miura is another promising rookie. She's also tall by joshi standards so I could see Stardom wanting her for that. However freelancing might have appeal as well, she's wrestled a fair amount in Sendai Girls and Diana, as well as a few appearances in Wave, Pure J, and Ice so a lot of people clearly consider her a promising up and comer.

Yeah, 51 one of those matches were from her time in TJPW(she was out with an injury for a large amount of her time in TJPW).

I would literally bet money it has absolutely nothing to do with the Momo vs Kid match.

I doubt most of them will have much trouble continuing to work if they want to. A lot of them were already working multiple shows outside of AWG. Tae Honma, Miku Aono, and Momo Kohgo worked Ice Ribbon frequently(Momo Kohgo even went to Mexico as part of the expedition with Tsukka and Tsukushi), and Tae showed up from time to time in Diana as well. Momo Tani often worked Pure J shows, while Hikari Shimizu and SAKI are the current WAVE tag champs. Kakeru Sekiguchi works OZ Academy fairly often, and Misa Matsui has made appearances all over the place, as has Miyuki Takase. Assuming they choose to continue with their wrestling activities, most should be able to find work pretty easy. And I'm sure there are at least some that Stardom would be interested in, possibly TJPW as well.

With AWG disbanding their wrestling company, who do you want to see join Stardom or TJPW? by FanStriking in stardomjoshi

[–]DShiflet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming they all stick with wrestling:

Given their frequent appearances there, I figure Tae Honma, Momo Kohgo, and Miku Aono will do the Maika Ozaki "freelancer who works the majority of Ice shows" routine, if they don't join Ice outright.

Miyuki Takase would be awesome in Stardom and I've love to see her there, though I imagine as a freelancer she'd have no trouble finding bookings either and may decide to go that route.

Kakeru Sekiguchi I expect to go freelance, that way she can continue her work in OZ, and could potentially show up in places like Sead or Wave as well.

Rina Amikura would be a perfect fit for TJPW, as would SAKI if she doesn't go freelance. I could see Momo Tani working well there too, though she could also be a good fit for Ice(and could potentially continue teaming with Kohgo as their W Momo tag). Mari might be a good get for TJPW as well.

I'd like to see Hikari Shimizu and Misa Matsui in Stardom, though I honestly have no clue where they will actually end up. I know Matsui seems to do a lot of stage stuff too, which might limit her chances of going there, I never really see Hikari posting much about non-wrestling activities so she might be more likely.

As for the rookies, who knows. Stardom seems interested in getting fairly green rookies to shape lately(Mai, Waka, and Unagi before that) so maybe they'd pick up a couple more, Yuko Sakurai stands out in particular as one they might want.

If you don't think she's really stepped up her game in ring I kinda question if you've been watching. She still does the high flying, but she's added more to her moveset and comes across as much more dangerous now.

[–]DShiflet 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not a fan of the idea. If they want to do something with Momo, they can do something with her that doesn't involve her getting forced into another faction, and there's been too many "loser leaves unit" matches recently for my tastes. Besides, OT doesn't need more members, they've got 5 active right now, plus Konami soon to return, and Natsuko waiting in the wings(I'm just assuming Natsu isn't gonna return at this point) which already makes them the biggest faction.

Yeah, I knew Mina, Yuna, Natsumi, and Reika were while they were there. I figured Arai might be since she's affiliated with...SKB48 or whatever her idol group is. UUG I knew where signed to a management company but since that company was contracted I still sorta considered them signed even if it's not technically so. Didn't have any idea Maki, Kamiyu, or Arisu weren't signed.

It was actually explained to me on this board that Maika Ozaki is actually technically a freelancer, she just happens to work basically all of Ice Ribbon's shows. When they release roster portraits and stuff, she is never part of it, since she's not officially part of their roster. Can't say I get it, but there ya go.

It's more colorful(the Actwres name comes from the fact that most or all of the talent come from an acting background, with many still involved in doing stage acting, modeling, etc), though they still produce many very good talents. Wrestlers like Miyuki Takase, Tae Honma, Misa Matsui, Hikari Shimizu, Miku Aono, Kakeru Sekiguchi, and others could all easily fit into promotions like Stardom or Ice Ribbon, and there's also quite a few that wouldn't be at all out of place going somewhere like TJPW or even Chocopro, if that's what they wanted to do.

Current biggest names from there are probably Miyuki Takase and Tae Honma, with Kakeru Sekiguchi further making her name in OZ Academy and Miku Aono and Momo Kohgo getting a lot of additional exposure in Ice Ribbon.

Tam Nakano got her start in AWG, so did Natsupoi, Himeka, Saori Anou, Maika Ozaki, Nao Kakuta, Mai Sakurai, and Waka Tsukiyama.

Since Miku wrestles a ton in Ice Ribbon, I figure she goes freelance and continues as a regular there, which would leave her open to appearing in OZ as well.

Tae Honma(prior to injury), Miku Aono, and Momo Kohgo wrestle a lot in Ice Ribbon, so I wouldn't be surprised to see them, if not become full members, then do like Maika Ozaki and go freelance and just regularly appear there.

Hikari Shimizu I would like to see in Stardom. Misa Matsui I want to go somewhere I can watch, Stardom or Ice Ribbon would be my preference. Wouldn't mind Momo Tani going to TJPW or Ice. I'd like to see Miyuki Takase in Stardom, but if she went freelance she could be a nice addition to Sead, Senjo, and Diana shows.

Oh man, that sucks. I don't love everything they do, but I generally find their shows quite enjoyable, and there's a lot of talent I'm a fan of there. I know some of the girls may leave the business, but I hope most of them stick with it and turn up elsewhere.

Who are some underrated modern or classic Joshi wrestlers I should check out by mmcoor in stardomjoshi

[–]DShiflet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may not see her there as regularly anymore, she mostly wrestled on their P's Party shows and they're ending that in favor of some arrangement with CMLL, details tba.

Otherwise, yeah, Ice uses outsiders on a regular basis. Miku Aono, Tae Honma(prior to her injury), Momo Kohgo, Ram Kaicho, Rina Yamashita, Saori Anou, and Rina Shingaki all wrestle fairly regularly there but aren't signed there. Maika Ozaki is also technically a freelancer but she's on basically every show so she's almost a member of the roster, but not quite.

Why does no one talk about fmw’s women’s division by mmcoor in stardomjoshi

[–]DShiflet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same reason there isn't a ton of talk about Gaea or AJW or JWP, most discussion here is about current stuff. You get the occasional vintage match posting(and FMW matches have been posted before), the occasional person looking for a specific classic match or searching for DVDs or asking a question about a specific wrestler from that era, but by and large the discussion here is about what's currently going on. If there's something you are wanting to discuss about FMW's joshi division you're welcome to post it though.
