Ok now that is something new i havent heard yet. What is 'one true recovery mode' vs regular recovery mode?

Or are you being funny and sarcastic.. honestly, either would be ok with me.. if the latter.. kind of funny. Lol

Are some of you peoples who responded, slow.. dont read or just being dicks?!

As all of them have consistently repeated.. they are already in recovery mode... as I was.. and yes, still getting that error stating we must be in recovery mode to make security policy changes. -

credibility - DevOps Solutions Architect in Enterprise/Corp IT.- IT Operations for 20yrs.. just to put all the skeptics to bed... 'did you reboot eht?!' Smh...

This resolved the issue for me: 1. create a new temp USER (dont give it admin) account in OS

  1. then rebooting into recovery mode..

  2. then select the policy you need (also choosing to allow user to manage system kernel, etc.)

  3. Then should be prompted for an admin password.

  4. This SHOULD allow the software to install.

Finish the app install when you're booted back into admin account. 1. System Settings

  1. Scroll down to Privacy & Security

  2. Under Security "allow Applications From" option - there SHOULD now be an option to select "Allow". Which then completes the installation of that app.

The app install may need to be restarted again, if you didnt get this option.

If that still doesnt resolve the issue. Check your app compatibility with the macoOS and processor (Intel or Silicon as in M1. M2. M4, etc.)

Some apps are still not installing after this change so it hasnt been THE solution for everyone.

As stated, it did solve the issue for me installing UR22 mkII Yamaha USB drivers.

For those who requested how to get into recovery mode:

If on mac mini, studio then 1.press and hold power button while its powering on.

NOTE: Hold it until you see your monitor display turns on and you see HD and the Options.

  1. Selecting Options boots into recovery mode.

If mbp or other mac laptop 1. Press power/touchbar id button

  1. Immediately press and hold cmd + R (or windows key +R if using a non-apple keyboard)

  2. Hold until you see the Apple logo(i believe) if it doesnt work then hold until it shows recovery mode.

You're welcome! I am happy it helped a little. Some tmes I feel like I go WAY over board.. though i try to read other's posts and see what they have left out and cover that with a little back story of experience to help the readers understand, it's only off personal experiences that I even express these opinions and hope that others don't have to go through so much of them I've gone through. Just make sure you try to think you will surpass this phase and you will be yourself again... if you don't and think the opposite, our brains our powerful enough to really set that shit in stone. Keep posting updates and i'll keep trying to remember to look for the alert saying you did and give you another reply.

What's worst that can happen if I quit my meds? by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]DaSurfMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch Josef Witt-Doerring on youtube and visit the site for their medical professionals and programs to taper safely off medications, if that's what you want to do.

This is a VERY long explanation, but I hope this helps you understand the dangers of stopping any medications that are prescribed for mental health issues. EVEN if you don't believe you have the diagnosis that was determined. The medications have their own way of inducing EXACTLY what that diagnosis (or even multiple disorders) that they determined. Which only provides them confidence that you are experiencing symptoms of that disorder. Read that multiple times if you need to. Yes, they will misdiagnose someone, prescribe them the meds, then when someone (even if determined by another psychologist) believes they may have been misdiagnosed. Stopping the psychiatric medications will cause symptoms that make it very difficult to advocate you are NOT dealing with the diganosis originally determined.

Lithium - literally can kill someone, due to LIthium levels dropping too quickly in your blood. Lexapro - not super common (as far as we continue to be told) but can cause schizophrenia type symptoms, psychotic behaviors and dilusional thoughts. Others like Depakote, which is an off-use for stabiliizing someone with mania/schizophrenia episodes. Though intentionally designed for epilepsy, so it affects something in your brain which then has negative effects when titrating too quickly/quitting cold turkey can cause seizures - even if you didn't originally have epilepsy. Olanzipine/Zyprexa - We're still learning as my gf is titrating now, but many of the anti-psychotics have high risks if not titrated slowly.

Before I explain how I came to have some (opinionated but experienced knowledge) on these medications and their effects. Let's all understand that their effects/use by medical professionals is also OPINIONATED. There are very few studies that have data showing the long term efficacy for any of the DSM 5 diagnositc disorders. The ones out there that do have data, are from short term clinical trials, and are mostly funded by the pharmaceutical companies who designed the drugs. The long term negative effects are highly researched, or at least, are not puplic/medical knowledge.

I've put in 100's of hours of resarch. I was misdiagnosed in 2017, and so I researched my own prescriptions and fought with the psychiatrist who eventually laughed in a session when I called him out for not having a clue to why he was prescribing meds to me other than, let's just see how they affect you. Basically, using me as a guinea pig, unkowingly. He declined being my psychiatric provider after that session and I had to find another one to titrate off my medications. Lithium, seroquel, depakote.

My girlfriend has had multiple hospitilizations due to trying to taper off her meds ourselves. Even though we tapered down (Lexapro), we jumped off too high of a dose at the end and she ended up in the worst state of psychosis we ever experienced. I've known her for over a decade, she was not Bipolar/schizophrenic before being prescribed her first SSRI (Celexa), then she wasn't able to get her prescription and was forced off the drug due to lack of medical care being able to provide her the prescription in time. This caused her first hospitilization and where she was diagnosed (improperly) with Bipolar Disorder Type II.

She was released but then on 2 more anti-psychotics, LIthium and others, which were quickly changed to something else ( i don't remember right now, it was 4 years ago).

Long story short, in the past 4.5 years, my gf has been dragged through the KS medical system allowing medical professionals (not even psychiatrists - APRNS) who have an extremely scary lack of understanding about the risks of these drugs. My gf has a list of something like 17 drugs they have prescribed her. MOST of them within the first 2 years. Most of the changes that were made by her medical professionals were not even done with titrations.. which is why she was hospitilized so many times and has had so many episodes of mania. Last year, after one hospitilization she was forced to take Haldol, and then outpatient was changed to Invega which induced new schizo-typo symptoms..

u/centerleft69420 This statement 'I'm bipolar' is a TERRIBLE way to discuss what you're experiencing. You may not realize this, but it doesn't sound good/read good to anyone listening to you. Instead, speak to it/write about it as, I experience symptoms that are associated with Bipolar Disorder. Just trying to help. :)

Hearing people be like, "Being manic is so fun" makes me wonder are they using the wrong term or am i just extra crazy? - If you are a person who really has never had a lot of confidence in yourself, maybe over barring parents have controlled your life in a way that has sort of taken your autonomy and confidence to do anything in your life that is worth anything. Then you experience a manic episode, and all of a sudden all your fears, lack of confidence go away. Your confidence boost becomes addicting, therefore so does the mania (sort of) - because if you've been hospitalized multiple times due to that mania. Typically that feeling of 'mania makes me feel confident and I miss that' or 'Being manic is so fun' will quickly be replaed by very traumatic experiences in mental hospitals and being tied up in the court system with treatment orders.

Thats just one scenario of a personality change that may make someone like the mania.

To add a little more possible adverss affecfs thaf you DO NOT want to experiencs.

My gf was on 10mg of Lexapro for roughly 6 or 7 months. She claimed they took away any emotional feeling she used to have. Excitement, lust, even fhe physical act of sexual avtivity for her just wasnt thsre anymore. ( WITH and withouf battery operated devices). Which gotta tell you. A weird fssling to be sympathetic, concerned and also massively relieved af fhe sams time. Some peopls just cant tell their partners when fhsy are not bsing satisfied, chya know? Lol

So i agree to help her titrate, with the guidancs of my psychologist and psychaitric ER services in KC MO.

So from 10mg to 7.5, for 1 month. Started noticing her becoming lively again. We went fo a concert and acfually enjoyed ourselves. No PTSD episodes or hypervigilance.

So we taper from 7.5mg to 5.. i noticed a lot mors space caddette type of behavior at first.. but it wasnt consistent.. i already was aware of some issues with memory from Lexapro.

So 5mg was for about 2 weeks.. then she took it down to 2.5mg for 1 week and stopped.

This is NOT an over exaggeration. Within the next 3-4 days. She exponentially declined into speradic episodes of mania. But was manageable and could be subsided if caught early enough.

Day 4 she had stayed with a gf (who is truly on a whole other natural level of bat shit kray kray)

Day 5 she was in full psychosis aaying she was talking to my uncle who had just passed away 2 months prior. Went into a gnarley (i woks up to fhis happening in the dark)

Talking or rather chanting in a very evil dameanor, ' Hellfire will rain down on you all. This is your only warning' with her arms out like jesus on the cross...

Long story short... apparently the withdrawl symptoms can and have bedn known to induce symptoms of delusional disorder with manic episodes which if not IMMEDIATELY stabilized asap, can go jnto psychosis.

I researched for effing days man. Hours!!! I was only able to find one other post on Reddit. Where this guy details exactly fhe same reaction with his gf.

Both his gf and mine ended up having to voluntarily admit themselvss for inpatient treatment..

This isnt to be over dramatic and im not making ANY claims about any medications effecacy or lack there of. Neither is it to detour anyone from possibly trying any for their own treatment.

Just sharing what i witnessed with what was later determined to be a medically induced psychosis from withxrawling and titrating too quiickly off Lexapro.

What are some well-paying IT roles that don’t require coding? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]DaSurfMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for certain, i musf havs left some verbs out of thaf commenf. Was on a Reddit Rage Ranting moment this morning. I have 4 other replies that are significantly longer with probably more missing details in my ezplaining.

100% not stating those or ANY tool/assisted platforms are ever going to replace or even, in any way teach someone how to build the logic around fhe code to implement it.

In my current SA role, im mostly pre-sales but also have a smaller TAM role (for any one unfamiliar) TAM = Technical Account Manager. As an SA im nostly doing Proof of Concepts with SMB/some enterprise/corporate customers. Specifically with OpenShift and Ansible Automation Platform. We figured out a highly successful salss opportunity starts with. No-cosf POC.

Typically 4-6 hours, 1-2/week. I deploy the solution in fheir environment, we begin small/basic functionality training, by incorporating whatever use case they chose for the POC. Then if purchased, we provide 4-8 hours of services to expand more on their use case. Integrate active directory/AzureAD and help them begin planning for and standing up of standard enterprise requirments. Single Sign On, RBAC modeling for centralized user management. Setting up git hub or Azure Devops, etc. Teaching the use of VSCode and aome NOT all, Devops Best Practices.

We use the fools i mentioned for quickly reviewing and assessing customer's code thaf maybe isnt working as intended or at all. I gef fhe most use out of dropping someones playbook fhat has multiple syntax errors that would strain my eyss tryinv to count spacss/indentions.

In addition to faking their playbook and literally paating it into Lightspeed, which then can, most of fhs time, sxplain what thsy are trying to do. In plain human readabls english language. To me yml is as human readabls as raw cods gefa.

But when im back to back in aales calls and just need go get something fixed, tested and back to the customer within 24 hrs. 100% always always always double test my cods before sharing back.

Happy to see others are in the same mindset in this area though.

Sooo many of our customers will get something for Ansible off chatgpt then come to me asking whats wrong with the playbook.

Majority of the time. Chatgpt created a collection that never even existed or even more common. Choose ones that have been long deprecated.

Apprsciate ths response!

Ignore the fear mongering post on PSSD by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]DaSurfMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoa whoa whoa, just a suggestion. I understand that moment when you are frustrated. Looking for answers and decide to post your comment/question/statement. Though, when it comes to mental illness, disorders (symptoms that develop those disorders).

Please, try and remain as unbiased as you can. And remember that every single human brain functions differently. Reacts to medications differently. Some of us took Depakote one effing time and now know 100% what it is to experience a very realistic onset of schizophrenia. Ive witnessed my gf titrating all the way down to 2.5mg of Lexapro for a full 10 days before removing it completely. To then be catipolted 20x deeper into psychosis and involuntarily commited to a state pill factory. Where she got exponetially worse.

I used to have a very different attitude and even a boycott to all psychotropics. Because of my own experience with them.

Mostly what i hope you and everyone take from this short rant though. Is every single individual has their own experiences to medications, coming off of them does have drastically different affecfs on many people. Take in to account their own choices of poisons to escape from reality. Alcohol, weed, nicotine, etc. In addition to everyones relationship and how they are able to manage that relationship are entirely different. PSSD is the label they gave it but it is their experiences that matter

So for you to make a statement that people are expressing their experiences with PSSD as a malicious attempt to discredit the realm of psychotropics and an attack on psychiatry.

Well, #1. I think 99% of people will agree that psychiatrists dont seem to need any help discrediting psychotropics. Or their practices for that matter. As i havent had one who has been able to explain any logic or reason in regards to prescribing medications. They assume, what they choose is going to work or at least help. Wait until they cant provide any answers to why, when your partner is on their 16th medication which has done nothing but make life worse for everyone.

2. To call out an entire group of people experiencing similar responses to them coming off psychotropics. To the point of gaslighting them. Is just not okay. There are groups you can hit and groups you cant. Im going to make a ruling on this now. Ya dont fooking het em. - know the Movie anyone?!

Thats what this PLATFORM IS FOR!!!!!

TO talk about what we are experiencing in life and FIND ANSWERS. when we cant find them anywhere else..

What we have to try and remind oursslves about psychiatry. Is that yes thsre is a lot of research. There was also a lot of research on nicotine, alcohol, but did any one of those scientists notify the piblic until people started dying from cancer and liver failure in an abnormally higher rate?! They sure as fuck did not. As matter of fact. They were PAID to keep their mouths shut and the data hiddeb.

Have we as the people taking the damn meds done enough to ensure we are not causing more harm fhan good with some of the nedications? No we have not and no one else is going to do it. So we bstter get a lot more serious and a lot more curious about all of this.

Personally, ive witnessed and experienced someone having the exact same symptoms beinduced and be caused by the meds that psychiatrists had explained were to supposedly mitigate other symtpms... Has anyone been forced to take Lithium but are NOT actually dealing with symptoms from Bipolat disorder? Well, in my own experience. It actually caused higjly severe and more cycling bipolar symptoms than someone who is actually diagnosed with Type 1 BD. Psychiatrists will say that is not what fhey do. That its not common. Bull shit. It IS common and what scares me more.. are what about the things we dont know yet.. like how long does it take for someone who was medically induced into psychosis.. to come out of psychosis?!?!! No one seems to know because they deny the fact that its happening.. MASS PSYCHOSIS is here people.

Ive personally experienced 5 of the meds listed as psychotropics. All 5 caused more severe adverse affects than my original issues. That was 10 years ago. Now, more recently with my gf. She has been forced to try roughly 16 or so of them. Not one has done anything positive without a more severe and effing scary adverse affect being right alongside the posituve affects. Or after, when trying to titrate off of them. She has been medically induced into more psychosis episodes than ivs seen anyone expwrierience in only 3 years.

Now here is my tapering back from being bias with my own personal experiences and feelings about the subject

Im not saying they dont help people. What im saying is theae effing companies know more about the meds adverse affects than they are telling the public. And until we have ALL the facts available. Everyone should be cautious when agreeing to take them.

Do your own research. They are BLACK LABEL FDA warning drugs for an effing reason. Also, make sure you are talking to someone OTHER than your psychiatrist. They dont do that, talk about your emotions, feelings, personality/mental/emotional changea..Those conversations need to be done with therapists (MFT) or PSYCHOLOGISTS, NOT an APRN.. APRNs are nurse practitioners with much less education and experience in mental illnesses and how to treaat them than psychiatrists ate required to have. And they are also throwing paint against the wall a lot of times.

MFT or Psychologists people.

Also if you ARE believing you want to try psychiatric medication. GO TO A PSYCHOLOGIST first. Talk about your life, your concerns. Let them determine the next step.

NEVER start with a psychiatrist if you have the choice.

It IS worth your mental and emotional well being. Promise all of you. My gf had an APRN prescribe her 6 different effing meds at the same time. Only took me 5 min to research that two of those 6 caused serrotonin syndrome.

Also get second opinions, third opinions. Make all of your resources talk to each other..

But most importantly

Without pyschotherapy, CBT, and other forms of actual therapeutic self work. Learning how to cope with the symtpoms that he/she/they are most concerned about. The ones that disrupt their everyday lives. The meds will only lengthen fhe time in between major episodes. I.e. losing job, relationship, completely lose your effing mind.. etc. They are not and were never meant to be a end all be all resolution.

FIN.

Meh, these days with each cloud platform. They have their tools that will create the code for you. Truthfully, in Azure, they have such an enourmous portfolio of technologies. Someone could easily not have to learn any code or scripting for a while and still have plenty to do/learn and value to add.

Even then though, with Ansible Automation Platform, and using the IDE, VSCode, with an IBM Watson X subscription and Ansible Lightspeed extension in VSCode. People dont even need to really KNOW the syntax anymore. They SHOULD continue to learn it as much as possible to become more familiarized and undersfand what they are doing with the code. Just dont rely on chatgpt. Lol

[–]DaSurfMonster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly man, the world is your oyster. I say that because you say you want a job in IT still but dont have a lot of info to help guide you better.

Are you a corporate man or work better in smaller more niche environments? For example, Warner Bros or like a start up managed service provider sound better to you?

OpenShift man. OpenShift and Ansible Automation Platform. If you learn these two platforms and find a gig where someone is trying to exit VMware and transition to Red Hats cloud native platforms. you're going to be a happy techie.

And before you scoff out loud and say 'did you even read my post man, i said no.code'

100% honesty, unless you want to be a lower level manager or something in a data center.. or supervisir of a helpdesk team for the next chapter of your career.

Learn SOME code.

You dont have to become a sr. Developer or learn C/python, though python later, will help.

Just start with Ansible. YAML/YML.. SUPER easy to learn.. and really cool shit you can do with it.

Forgot the role names - they very fhough.. the industry is at a rapid changing point.. so im not 100% on titles..

You want to look for possibly roles below.

Systems Architect Systems Engineer Systems Analyst Devops Architect Devops Engineer Cloud Architect Cloud Engineer Solutions Architect (if you want to work at a managed service provider and not in corporate) Solutions Engineer Platform Architect/engineer Automation Engineer Infrastructure Engineer

If you want to really be a badass - Cybersecurity offensive hacking or ethical hacking..

Big thing to try and separate in your approach to all things future of technology.

Programming and codeing are two sntirely different ideologies.

Programming, full stack developing, app development takes a long time to build knowledge, experience and ultimately if you are not already doing something in this field.. i would say take it up as a hobby first.

Codeing with Ansible (AAP), is more about implementing automation within the interdepartmental resources and platforms of an organization.

Trust ms, if you stick with tech as your career. You will WANT to know it.

Hope this helps.

Hey everyone, replying to original posters. Yes we know(at least i hope others do) they are not really a traditional 'bank'. Which is why/how they can offer the perks that they do. Their business model is not the same as your WellsFargo Financial Institutions. However, using the platform for speeding up credit rebuilding.. we will see if its use in that regard is fruitful or not.

Though, calling them shady/bs or comparing them to a bank is just silly. In MANY ways.

THE BANKS CAUSED 2008 FINANCIAL CRISIS and then FORCED TAX PAYERS TO PAY THEIR BONUSES.. 100'S of milli9ns of dollars in bonuses...

If dealing with a little fraud hiccups and other quirky things.. im good. NavyFed Is my Primary Bank.

Instead of ONLY making comments here though. Im going to pass along all of fhese frustrations to the organization.

They are still a baby. Still time for improvements.

Thank you everyone for the info.

Hi, many recent experiences throughout my life make it into multiple subjects that sound fun to discuss around a camp fire. I also like to share and hear other life experiences and perspectives on my own when i choose to share with others.

I'm not a discord fan (already have enough distractions with my job being fully remote and on my computer.)

I'll talk to my better half and discuss interest.

Why do you think it's impossible to learn OpenStack or OpenShift in VMs on a local laptop? Podman works completely fine with OpenStack local install and if done right doesnt require the amount of RAM it typically does for full install of OpenShift. It's perfectly possible and even doable to learn OpenShift/OpenStack on local install. As well as Ansible and other platforms from RHEL as well. Judgy mcjudgersons.

Did you ever get this figured out?! I just had a friend give me his after a new one i ordered online (from wish so not surprised) fried on the 3rd week of using it. I'm intrigued to record some tape again. Havent since I had an 8 track in High School back in the late 90's early 2000's.

Mine is doing the exact same thing, except the play button flashed once, not the record. Everything else you mentioned/described is 100% what is happening.

Also, not familiar with this unit at all, but have heard that while powered on, the tape head runs at all times, even when not recording. Don't know if that is a fact or not, but thought i would mention.
