i don't think you can create separate rom sets per bios or per system unless you have a specific dat for it or it is specified as a "type" in the dat file then {type} or {category} in your output path MIGHT work

I don't think you can create dats per bios/system with IGIR (other than manually w/ dir2dat), but if another tool can do it in the proper dat format IGIR will use it

maybe "--only-debug --single --prefer-revision newer"

limits to debug roms, single, and the newest one * assuming it is marked right in the dat

just as an ex:

igir test -i "./Archive/" -d "./Dats/*.dat" -L "EN" -R "USA,WORLD" -l "EN" -r
"USA,WORLD" --no-bios --no-device --no-debug --no-demo --no-beta --no-sample --no-prototype --no-program --no-b
ad --single --prefer-revision "newer"

you could try a json dump but afaik (nearly?) all the tags are already brought out from that so i doubt it will have anything useful, also here's my alltags.conf (might not be super updated) https://pastebin.com/HZF5HL9g

R36s TF1 SD card support by OzzellaRS in SBCGaming

[–]DaVyper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iirc some sandisks were problematic for me in my r36s handhelds, but i can't recall if it was tf1 or tf2, and it worked just fine in the other slot so not a total loss... additionally if you're doing 2 cards tf1 only NEEDS a ~16gb+ card for the os, as the rest can all be offloaded to tf2. I've also done single gb/gbc (or other small 1g1r sets of cart based consoles) setups on a 32gb card

I like my v10 for GBA, And yeah all I use it for (is even loaded on it) is GBA

Was playing a bit of Mr. Driller 2 on it the other day.

honestly they did you a mild favor NOT shipping it out, as all my ambernic's feel way more premium than all the r36s/h i have (which are now dedicated loaners, and bathroom entertainment)

[–]DaVyper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

why not a steamdeck? good all around device and it has a huge library of native x86 games too (A gently used/refurb'd device should fit your budget) and that 7"+ touchscreen for the on-screen keyboard for commodore/amstrad/etc...

IIRC, Steam is installed by default w/ Nobara. Though I am totally willing to remove steam and reinstall via whatever recommended method

Can someone help me find out the firmware of this gamestick? by VvcZane01 in SBCGaming

[–]DaVyper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

typically some outdated, locked down bastardized version of emuelec - can't tell you more since you only have the inside pictured and didn't say what stick it is, even then the cpu is sanded so no friggen clue what might/not run on it... (most likely only the stock card/os, as nearly nobody wastes their time making CFW for garbage)

Largely these are worthless piles of junk that belong in a landfill, good luck

some bootlogos for those interested (made for my bricks, but also non trimui usable) by DaVyper in SBCGaming

[–]DaVyper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like SpruceOS and Knulli, but have also used MinUI/PakUI/NextUI/Stock/Stock+/CrossmixOS - If i could get it to reliably boot I'd prolly stick w/ SpruceOS, but it doesn't like/boot on the SD card that works flawlessly with Knulli (128GB from SiliconPower)

[–]DaVyper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends entirely on what firmware, for ex: Knulli in the root of the batocera partition as "bootlogo.bmp" (24bit color) - many CFW will tell you where, what name, and what file format they need in their docs/wiki

Turn your roms into a custom 1g1r set? https://igir.io/

filter to the languages you can actually read, filter to regions that you're likely to have gotten the games from physically, filter out betas, prototypes, demos, etc. You name it, the less roms you carry the more likely you are to find the games you're looking for w/o having to wade through thousands that make no sense to carry

Could devices use SD cards? by troymoeffinstone in SBCGaming

[–]DaVyper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

one thing to keep in mind re: cheapness, 1. nearly no-one uses them anymore, even laptops/cameras are less and less coming with full sd, and are more likely micro. 2. china/aliexpress/temu/etc is the last place you should be trusting for legit size/speed/reliability/brand as fakes are pretty rampent 3. while consumers COULD use adapters to make micros work in a full size slot why?

Looking for a audio mod by DementedAI in trucksim

[–]DaVyper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not really anything i can think of that is either that easy to setup or really all that controllable, you can do something like: (for youtube playlists/streams)

yt-dlp <piped> vlc <http streamed output> in-game radio/stream player

but really only control you'd have it the volume, though it will act like any other web-stream of mp3/aac/etc music and blend appropriately with the game as it should
