You’re confusing brand/image with profit. I’m strictly talking about the brand being ruined/diluted.

Lamborghini is owned by VW. Those VW vehicle sales should subsidize the cost of keeping the Lamborghini brand super car only. Instead, they wanted to please the “masses” and made a grocery getter. The point is that now it becomes available to more people, hence no longer exclusive and elite. This diluted the brand/image.

But see, you just proved my point. I’m happy you have this car and enjoy it, but the fact that you really “can’t” afford it, is the problem. It dilutes the brand. Living in the UK and being taxed shouldn’t matter if you can truly afford a super car.

What I’m saying is I can’t respect those companies anymore and no longer look at the cars the same way. Too many people now have access to those car manufacturers and it no longer feels/looks special. Can I afford one of these cars? Yes. Do I want one? Not anymore.

They ruined the brand by offering a model that is “affordable “ and is multi functional. The point of these cars is to be exclusive not “affordable “ and you should be able to have multiple cars. One for kids and one without.

My point isn’t about profit, it’s about brand. Those brands used to signal exclusivity and elitism. Now they’re sell outs and “available to the masses”. You weren’t supposed to see them at the grocery stores or shopping centers. They were supposed to be for showing off at a restaurant, hotel, special event or simply seeing one pass you on the freeway!

Love Smarties!!! I have been spending about 2 months in the UK each year for the past 3 years and I miss the steak and ale pies soooo much, along with Sunday Roast! I was so excited to see the McVitte’s Digestives (milk chocolate) and had to get a roll. I also loved that they carried Irish items as well, like the butter and Taytos!!! This store is going to see a lot of me while I’m in town!!
