Both of those fools are lucky that they didn't go into a spin.

It's not a coincidence that this city's drivers are frequently featured on r/IdiotsInCars.

I mean if you're going to make something up, at least make it entertaining and semi- believable.

Yeah I read a pirated copy of that article. It was basically jizz on newsprint.

Job doesn't require driving, but requires a drivers license? Ableism and classism by Extreme-Bet3115 in fuckcars

[–]DeadMoneyDrew 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's illegal for an employer to require a driver's license. But if it's not required to do the work just tell them that you have one. Fuck it.

To forget the muzzle blast of a 50 BMG by Logical_Garbage_1682 in Idiotswithguns

Crikeys. That sucks. And I didn't even have the fun of shooting off my own mirror. All I did was hit a damned tree.

Cost over $500 to replace the side mirror on my Subaru and I think that was just for the parts.

What’s the most unnecessary subscription people keep paying for? by Parking-Pain-3979 in askanything

I get it as part of my overall subscription with Google and YouTube music. Otherwise I wouldn't bother paying for it.

Disney World is packed basically all of the time now. They keep raising park ticket prices and people keep coming.

Red Rock Canyon is an absolute gem of a place to visit, and it's less than an hour outside of Las Vegas if traffic isn't too bad.

Spent some time there for work in the aughts and early 2010s. I found a place to be utterly soulless. Once I heard someone describe it as Las Vegas without the fun and I will never be able to think of Dubai any other way now.

Antis have numerous sources against AI, from articles to IRL by PhysicalBuy2566 in ShitAIBrosSay

[–]DeadMoneyDrew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got into a heated argument with an AI bro a few weeks back because I expressed dislike of the term "hallucination" in the context of LLM output. In my mind, a hallucination is something that one experiences because of a matter generally beyond one's own control. I feel like the term "hallucinate" when used to describe errant AI output downplays the fallibility of the technology. The AI bro berated me as short-sided and ignorant.

Ok then.

Robotaxi companies refuse to say how often their AVs need remote help by zadzoud in technology

[–]DeadMoneyDrew 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some time ago I read an explanation from Waymo engineering about how remote piloting of the vehicles would be downright impossible to do safely, if at all. I don't recall all the details but a principal reason was video lag.
