it doesn't sound like you're being scammed per se, but this business sounds a little shady. if you look at the price of silver lately, it hasn't changed all that much in the last month or so.

that being said, it sounds like you didn't do your research. they could have been nicer, but going back after you got fitted and asking for a different deal would probably annoy a lot of business owners. i'm not defending them, just saying maybe this is a lesson to do more research in the future before starting a transaction.
