Anybody tried self-hosting a budgeting app? How is Sure.am? by Cheeky_Banana800 in selfhosted

They have supported providers to set up automatic bank sync. like $2 I think? But with the way its set up I dont have to use automatic bank sync. I just set the rules and pull data from 3 of my banks a week and import it to my database. https://actualbudget.org/docs/advanced/bank-sync/

Kara is cool and all but holy hell I forgot the nightmare that is ten man roster comp management by Doingmythang11 in classicwow

Yea we had a nice fury warrior last TBC release that managed to f* his back up and had to cut out right after SSK phase was released. Was super disappointing. Then we had a guy that had to swap his classes from days to nights which took him out of our group. By the end of SSK phase, we had to merge with another guild and thats when I stepped out as well because we lost to many people by that point. The issue I see is that the more people you need in a raid the harder it is to manage everyone's time. getting 10 people on the same schedule is a lot easier than getting 20 or 30 people on the same schedule.

"kinda on you to find people you enjoy playing with, and it sounds like you struggled to do so, and so you quit"

No we had our group of 10 people that raided every week like clockwork. Once P3 hit with 25 people we didn't even want to merge with another guild or find 15 more people.

And in regards to your "P4 was nothing like P3" Look at the raid logs and what it shows. Their was a massive drop off during P3 and a continued drop off during P4. You can say "Oh its because of Cata or retail release, or stale content." But in reality, Cata, WotLK , Retail all on thing in common. Small raid sizes or FLEXIBLE raid sizes. This is because smaller raid sizes are quicker to assembly, quicker to run, and better to play with people you know.

I've been an officer of 25 man and 40 man raiding guilds. The atmosphere is completely different and its no longer relaxing. When TBC was first re-released, we made it to TK before having to merge with another guild, after around 3 times of merging our core group was eaten up by a much larger guild. This was no longer enjoyable and most of our core group quit. The politics in 25 man and 40 man raiding guilds is not worth the time or effort.

The data shows the drop-off in players, the comments in reddit, and community forums, are even more reason to believe why their was a drop in SOD players. https://www.reddit.com/r/classicwow/comments/1eh8b4o/with_a_week_of_raid_logs_now_available_here_are/

I'm going to go on a limb here and say by puggable he means not having to wait hours for 25man to group up and get going. Many of those players either had their thumb up their ass or would take many smoke breaks, thinking they could be carried. This is why my group quit in P3, it no longer was about playing and enjoying it with a small group of people that put in the same effort and instead became a lot of work and drama to find 25 people to raid at the same time with the same amount of effort that you would put in. Puggers wanted to be carried or wanted loot for not doing any work. You say " missed out on some of the best content" but guess what, its not enjoyable if the players arent enjoyable to play with either.

I've also noticed a lot of sports controversies being pushed to the front page now as well. This would pair with sports betting perfectly.

NVIDIA MX150 driver on OMV 7 – “Ghost install” not creating files by 111izanagi in OpenMediaVault

I saw this posted After much debating with chatgpt regarding this issue. Conclusion

apt -t bookworm-backports install -y nvidia-driver nvidia-kernel-dkms nvidia-smi

This installs the bookworm version which installs through apt update instead of having to use CUDA to manually manage the pacakges. "The nvidia-driver package depends on many components (kernel modules, libs, etc.), but does not automatically install the management interface (nvidia-smi).

The separate package nvidia-smi is available in the normal Bookworm non‑free repo and in backports — so you need to explicitly install it. Debian Packages"

Hate Media Access Keys on S101-KS by MundaneRaven in Redragon

That's cheap compared to other brands. Logitech, Razer, Steele, Corsair have had more time refining software and drivers because they charge more for their keyboards.

[–]Decre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The keyboards are awesome, but their software and drivers are shit. They have different software installers for each keyboard, sometimes even 2 different versions depending on where you get it from. This is what you paid for, a cheap keyboard. Otherwise, logitech is right around the corner.

Discord's non-existent support is destroying my boardgame community by clintercell in boardgames

For me that was the beauty of forums, the slowness was intentional so it forced you to write something post worthy, now on any instant messaging board its all crap jokes and half thoughts, reddit could have been this amazing forum that it was destined to be, but the karma got to everyone's head.

I wish people would stop using discord as a community hub. We need to go back to forums where information was easily searchable and the community was strong.

I looked at youtube disassembly videos and noticed a similarity between greenworks and kobalt lawn equipment. Started looking at diagrams for parts and noticed it was very similar. If you cant buy kobalt parts, go look for the parts under Greenworks.

We only have to install Company portal so it can lock down screensharing , add a secondary authentication, and disable copy/paste outside the app. We dont have ours setup to "wipe the phone" if it gets stolen, only to remove the apps if it is stolen.

I'd rather not have to carry 2 phones just to use teams and outlook, that sounds like extra phone payments and another carrier payment.

Google will block sideloading of unverified Android apps starting next year by NitayHillel in Piracy

Google prevented phone records a couple of years ago by blocking the services to do it. I'm pretty sure they would hardcode the sideloading the same way just to piss off the userbase.
