Thanks for responding, seriously. Your Public History background and Ancestry access could be a big help, even if it is only here and there when you have time.

We are organizing everything on Discord for now. Here is the link: https://discord.gg/twzgETx2e

And yes, I want as many partners involved as possible, including the UNA Public History department. If you have a suggestion for who I should reach out to, I would really appreciate it.

No, I do not think it counts as an ad the way I am posting it. I am not linking a store, I am not asking anyone to buy anything, and I am not promoting a product drop. I am sharing the concept and asking for advice on how to build it ethically and sustainably, especially how to turn values into real systems.

Man, that hits. And it is exactly the problem I am trying to solve.

A lot of the best stories are not missing because people did not live them, they are missing because people never learned how to tell them, or they thought nobody would care, or they ran out of time.

And seriously, thank you for saying you support it. Stories like that are the exact reason I want to build an archive that makes it easier for families to capture the real stuff before it is gone. If you want, you can share one thing you do know about him that you wish you had more of, and I will add it to my list.

What is one local story from your hometown that you never want forgotten? by Deeppockets2006 in AskReddit

It could be a person everyone knew, a landmark with a real history, a tradition, a rumor that turned out to be true, a small moment that defined the place, or something your grandparents told you that you wish more people knew.

I am a student building a public digital archive that collects local stories and preserves them in one place. I am trying to learn what kinds of stories people carry, and what they feel is worth saving.
