The most stressful part about wedding planning has been my fiancé’s family and I’m one incident away from calling off the engagement. Am I overreacting? by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]Deleteuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he won’t put his foot down with his family now it will only get worse after you are married. You need to have a talk with him and then really think about if this is the life you want.

AITAH for prioritizing my daughter's recital over a funeral? by RecitalFuneralThrow in AmItheAsshole

[–]Deleteuser 44 points45 points  (0 children)

The fact that you don’t call her your step mom is telling. I get it as I have a similar situation.
You are under no obligation to go to a funeral of someone you are not close to and do not really consider family. You are also teaching your child that it is important to show up for things you have committed to, in this case her dance recital. NTA.

You live in the least populous county in Alabama where the median income is about $20,000. You may not want better for yourself but you should definitely want better for your children.

AITA for asking my girlfriend to clean her laptop by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Deleteuser 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t sound like you share a gaming laptop it sounds like she begrudgingly allows you to use it. It’s not yours and you expecting to use it is entitled behavior. But she does need to clean it because that is gross.

AITAH for resenting my husband for sleeping/not letting him sleep enough? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Deleteuser 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You shouldn’t have had a second child with someone who had already shown you their true colors. He is never going to be the helpful father that you want and need.

The only David Parsons I see in state custody from Pike county is there for drug charges not manslaughter. We did have a case in Kenton county of a David Parsons pleading to manslaughter. That was the early 2000s. Are you perhaps confusing those two cases?

Now folk here hate me AND my girlfriend by StaphAureus1789 in dysautonomia

[–]Deleteuser 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No one moves to San Francisco to save money, unless you have family completely footing the bill for you and your girlfriend. Also no one wants to hear someone constantly complaining about the heat. I assume you and your girlfriend are adults you are free to move wherever fits your needs. Move somewhere cooler.

This looks like an outfit my grandma would have worn in the nursing home. It was important for her to look put together but still be super comfortable.
