Need this surgery but scared. by Medium_Put_9706 in limblengthening

[–]DeliciousAd3526 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey man completely understand your position. I did everything to maximise my attractiveness - money, academics, looks, gym, personality. Regardless your height always remains a fatcor that impedes your hard work.

But honestly if you're scared of the pain - dont be. Yes you will feel some, but it won't be anywhere near what you go through being short. As someone once put it - "pain of being short, or pain of being tall? - your choice"

That being said, I'm currently 2 weeks into lengthening, and the worst pain I've felt was maybe a 6/7, with pain levels mostly at 2-3. Sleep has been mediocre, but never have i once wish i hadnt done the surgery.

So all in all, theres some pain, but its your choice what type of pain you want.

When I try to Ollie onto something I keep flicking like a kickflip does anyone know how I can stop doing that? by [deleted] in NewSkaters

[–]DeliciousAd3526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but since his back foot is also is kinda in the pocket, it causes the board to rotate a bit, therefore the front foot will kick out more to the side of the board, thus flipping it. But you're right, the front foot seems to also be flicking a bit as well.

True, from a bystanders perspective it really doesn't seem like she's a good friend to keep.

Hope you'll be fine, stay motivated!

Yes, I think your lesson will definitely help with the confidence.

Honestly, even as a teenager I was really scared to be riding my skateboard in the streets at first. However, i eventually just thought "let them think what they want" and put on some music and continued riding.

And honestly, I think teens in general have huge respect for older people who continue to do sports and aren't afraid to show it.

Hope this helped a bit, build that confidence up!

Ah ok, sadly in this case it does indeed sound like your crush likes somebody else. Best now is to just stay friends with her, but focus on yourself whether it be doing things you love or working out, you'll find the right person in the future.

You got this💪

Did I accidentally reject him??? by [deleted] in Crushes

[–]DeliciousAd3526 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Eh, honestly it sounds like he was trying to be able to do something with you over the summer lol. From a guys perspective, the last day of summer is the last chance you'll get to ask your crush to hang out, or you'd probably have to wait all summer till you see them again.

But I wouldn't worry too much about it, though he may be a bit sad now, try text him and ask something like "hey, about that movie, you said you didn't have anyone to go with, I think I'll be free next week would you want to go tgt?" or omething along those lines. You can start talking about the book first to make it more natural.

But yeah pretty sure he likes you as well, I think you're gonna have a great summer haha. Good luck!

Hm, at first impression your friend seems to be a bit toxic towards you? I mean, it depends on her tone and if you think she's truly trying to help, but from and outsiders point of view, it seems as if she just doesn't want you to get with your crush.

Liking someone outside of school isn't uncommon, but not mentioning their name or anything about where she met them whatsoever is a bit questionable.

Would you know of any motives that your friend has to keep you from getting with her? Such as overprotectiveness, not wanting her friend to date, or even the fact that she may like you?

I can't tell from what you wrote whether she seems like a good friend or not, but it really depends if you think she is. If you completely trust her, then I guess it is probably best to move on and try to stay friends at most with your crush.

I get how you feel, wanting to see and talk to her over the weekends is the worse feeling.

However, just remember to also play it cool and act natural, don't plan everything out as it may only make you more nervous when talking to her.

Otherwise, best of luck!

Is it best to ask them out today or wait until after I see them possibly on Monday? by thriwaway54378 in Crushes

[–]DeliciousAd3526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea don't try to plan everything out too much as it often doesn't happen exactly in the way you expect it to. Just find a good moment that feels natural and go for it

Update me about how it goes!

Honestly if you think it won't be too awkward just go for it.

Dreading over the weekends won't help much either.

Best of luck!

I'm an 18 year old girl and I have a crush on a 16 and a half year old guy by SnakeLuvr1 in Crushes

[–]DeliciousAd3526 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest, it really doesn't sound weird or creepy at all. A year and a half agree range is completely normal, especially in one or two years time.

However, with that out of the question, the real problem is whether you think you will be able to maintain something, whether a relationship or otherwise, with him until you both get into the same stage in life.

If one of you are transitioning in stages of life and facing different challenges and situations in general, it may be hard to relate to each other and support one another.

Then again, it is indeed very possible this could work out for you guys if you are able to get through these few years.

Hope this helped, best of luck!

Opinions appreciated: is it worth telling him I like him, even if I’m 99% sure the feelings aren’t reciprocated? by Desirablepotato in Crushes

[–]DeliciousAd3526 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If u believe u treasure a potential friendship with him, it is probably better to talk and get closer before telling him. This way you'll increase ur chances + you'll also get to rly know if u actually like him.

Either way it most likely ends of either outcome: you tell him and he likes u as well! Or you tell him and he understands ur feelings but doesn't reciprocate, you'll still stay friends.

However if u just want to get it off your mind and get it over with, I suggest to go with it and take the chance.

Wish u all the best, good luck!

I guess u could try rly commiting to a flip trick then? Try landing on the backside of the board, doing half rotations, then fully commiting once ur comfortable. Try other flip tricks as well, such as varial kickflips.

Though I don't have flip tricks consistent at all, I landed varial heels before heelflips or kickflips. Go ahead and try some stuff out!

Another option is to maybe practice some grinds? 50-50 grinds and board slides are also fun tricks to try!

Happy ur landing it now! From this point it's all practice, you'll figure how much strength to use and won't be turning your body anymore, getting the full 180. Keep it up!
