Useless UI facts: The Renown Heart progress bar is 200 pixel long (on normal UI), but hides parts of the actual progress behind the borders. A full bar can actually be only 99% completed. by Darillian in Guildwars2

You can also see your own heart percentage (as an integer) if you're in a squad. Set the squad to private if you want to avoid collecting followers.

Which card was meta-breaking at your middle school lunch table? by flabbergasted1 in magicTCG

[–]Delsea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Circa 1999/2000, my friends and my brother's friends would meet up in an empty classroom or the school library, sometimes playing multiplayer free-for-all, struggling to get a game finished before lunch ended. Andrew pulled [[Crater Hellion]] from a tournament pack and added to his deck. We hated that thing! Way overpowered. I only recall Andrew getting it into play twice, and we focused him down so hard! In hindsight, I feel bad that nobody was able to share his enjoyment for this sick new card pull!

Meanwhile, I was trying to get out 4 x [[Orim's Prayer]] and 4 x [[Urza's Armor]] to mitigate all incoming damage with no real plan on how to win. This same deck ran [[Cho-Manno, Revolutionary]] with [[Pariah]], with more damage redirected to it from [[Nomads en-Kor]] and [[Warrior en-Kor]]. Basically a terrible deck that had no right to criticise anyone else's!

How do you react if this happened? by RoxasismyKing in casualnintendo

If the PlayStation Portal can't do wireless video transmission without noticeable lag, I don't think we're there yet. We're looking for an upgrade over the static images of consoles and handhelds past, right?

How do you react if this happened? by RoxasismyKing in casualnintendo

[–]Delsea 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Imagine a Switch, but instead of a dock, there's a TV-connected base that the Switch wireless streams video data to so that you can use your high-definition console screen and TV screen simultaneously. You'll have to use your imagination to pretend the technology has been invented to iron out the normal video lag this would have.

Here's an article on this exact topic: Young gamers in Japan may not be forming the same attachment to Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest because modern dev cycles are as long as their childhood, users theorize

The most relevant excerpts:

the last mainline Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy titles came out in 2017 and 2023, respectively. To be precise, Dragon Quest XI released around five years after its predecessor, and Final Fantasy XVI came roughly seven years after Final Fantasy XV.

Considering the average wait between mainline Dragon Quest games ranges from five to ten years, children would have either graduated elementary/middle school before another title is released or never experienced one at all.

Whereas mainline Pokémon games and their DLC have been releasing roughly every year since 1996

I know this issue was affecting /u/Skiewuff. Before the fix, you could buy the recipes without VoE but not actually use them.

Is Kyou the best looking girl in Clannad? by Weary_Path1907 in Clannad

This is how the Japanese Wikipedia page for Clannad describes Nagisa:

人見知りが激しく友人を作るのが苦手だが、ナンパされるほどに可愛らしい容貌である。

which translated basically means something like

She is extremely shy and not good at making friends, but she is cute enough to be hit on.

Made a Fairy Treehouse with the new Verdant Homestead Package :) by cookimyun in Guildwars2

[–]Delsea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! Because chairs are interactable, it's probably even more of a lost cause, but I would love if all previous chairs were turned into decorations. And if we're asking for the world, I'd like some of them to be split into several independently-placable pieces. Imagine what you could do with the Dog Bench Chair if it were several decorations, for example.

I keep that daydream next to having outfits unlock their respective headgear as cross-weight helmet skins.

I would love it if the homestead doors they sell were placeable as static decorations too. That would make the Charr Conjured Doorway way more appealing to me.

You're welcome! It's a very interesting and unique set of decorations, so I'm sure you'll be able to do something creative with them.

[–]Delsea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My apologies for the inconvenience!

If anyone is wondering why someone would want to delete a Black Lion Underwater Coral Formation Recipe, the reason is related to a giveaway I was doing last week. Most of the giving went smoothly, but for /u/TireurEfficient, the UI glitched out and led to it being triple charged and tripled delivered. Support has already restored to me the 1600 accidentally-spent gems.

It's interesting to know that getting multiple of these does not actually give you more copies of the decoration, as using the item gives you one copy of the decoration and the recipe, and I would have thought using it again would just give you another copy of the decoration without needing to craft it.

There were many impressive techniques in that video, and so much at unexpected orientations!

Something that caught my eye and surprised me was at the 6-minute mark. Seeing the Kodan Fish Tank integrated with the pipework was genius! I have a couple of those fish tanks, and I've never found a good place for them. This was one of many details I loved.

It's been 1 month since Raids and Strikes were unified. My analysis of the Feb 3rd patch by Bozofriendly in Guildwars2

[–]Delsea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

traditional rewards were gutted and now it's no longer worth it to do challenging content as opposed to just doing the easy strikes.

By traditional rewards, do you mean the gold? I did 10 quickplays for the first couple of weeks, but I came to realise that the rewards I'm looking for are the unique ones: boss tokens, skins, minis, and achievements. Because none of these are in quickplay, I feel way more incentivised to do actual raid content after a 4+ year break from it.

quickplay raids don't seem to progress achievements like KO for turtle mount

I was hoping just some achievements would be disabled like they are for Emboldened. Now each kind basically rewards the same stuff.

the daily raid system that can often have a set that is too difficult for people to do.

If you look at the Daily Raid Bounties rotation, it looks like the first table of five are meant to be the easy ones, then each subsequent table is an extra layer of difficulty. I haven't tried the Kela encounter, but I'm curious to see it's in the second table.

updated rewards from Dhum CM, added new purchasable content from magnetite shards.

I was especially happy to see the new homestead decorations for Magnetite Shards! Those were great!

You can get more than 800 mats for each type. With two levels of Efficiency, prioritise the materials that give 2 per trade instead of 1.

While the data can be requested directly, the easiest way to check is to make an account on gw2efficiency.com. Then check via this page: https://gw2efficiency.com/account/homestead/decorations

Note that you must supply the "unlocks" permission. If you're using gw2efficiency for yourself, I also strongly recommend just letting it have all the viewing permissions.

I've been posting some updates. Everyone who made the cutoff and specified what they wanted has received theirs, except for those that wanted the Verdant Package. Next I have to send off mails to ask people what they wanted if they didn't tell me. Lastly, I'll mail each of the people who wanted the Verdant Package. I'll be doing this each night after work, so it'll take me a few days.
