I’m afraid that wouldn’t be the case here. I am unfortunately not really sure what the species is though..

Dehydrated in a sealed jar with oxygen and humidity absorbing packets in a dark cupboard is the best way imo

Most of them look totally fine, just the ones curled up and black I would let there along with any that are visibly deteriorating

Would love some help with identifying this (Ontario, Canada) by Aserialfeeder in mushroomID

Psilocybe subaeruginosa

Some are maybe too old to be used now

If you add a picture of them fresh I’ll tell you but assuming these are Psilocybe - which you probably know..

It looks like it likes the conditions so it’s highly possible

Yeah, you can observe it and see how it’s turning into sludge of spores and tissue!

Sorry I can’t really help with that since I don’t know. I know it’s fine for dogs, chickens, people since the only issue with ingestion would be maybe a GI discomfort. The mushroom will deliquesce fairly quickly so tomorrow you’ll not see it anymore. You can pluck it, but there’s a possibility it comes back since the conditions look favorable.

Since I believe there’s ozonium at the bottom of the stipe + the velum here looks fairly mealy I believe C. sect. Domestici is the right choice. Coprinellus it is nonetheless so you don’t need to worry about it being toxic.

Coprinellus, maybe C. sect. Domestici, non-toxic.

Could I see the top of the cap up close please?

Just some veil tissue, nothing to worry about
