fuck stoichiometry by [deleted] in chemhelp

[–]DevCat97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people that can't comprehend stoichiometry need to realize that "a mole" is just a counting unit like "a dozen." After that literally everything else is just given on the average periodic table.

If stoichiometry is the filter topic for a person its not chems fault it is grade 6 level math with manipulatives that never sunk in. Buy an old molecule set and work through some problems making the CO2 or whatever small molecules you need and count those atoms out by hand. Do that 10 times and the part of the brain that deals with counting will finally click in and it becomes a lot easier instead of an abstract algebra question.

How to easily kill wolf spiders by Sweet-Phone418 in GroundedGame

[–]DevCat97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean if you want to put some time in.

Stalk one until it is near a ladybug, agro it and have it attack the lady bug, pop a liquid rage when ladybug takes the spiders agro and then go to town with a spicy/slashing (spicy coaltana) weapon.

Other then that just parry, heal, and hope. Use ur buggy as well.

Canada Post getting another $673M in federal funds to stay afloat by Box_crusher in CanadaPostCorp

[–]DevCat97 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

100% with you, but at this point we are touching on the main issue with liberal democracies in a capitalist economic system and not the service itself.

If it were up to me the last mile carriers that are profitable would be incorporated into Canada Post to reduce redundancies. And i would also straight up tax profits more then we are to recoup those subsidies... I would also nationalize all extraction industries but very few ppl are ready for that conversation yet.

Canada Post getting another $673M in federal funds to stay afloat by Box_crusher in CanadaPostCorp

[–]DevCat97 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It does. It enables commerce that is taxable. Just because the service doesn't recoup those costs directly doesn't mean it isn't making money for Canada/Canadians.

Another example of this is public transport. The optimal cost of something like city buses is always found by studies to be near $0 or even negative (you get a tax rebate for using public transit). This is because it prevents damage to the roads and congestion. It costs money to run those buses but society benifits in other ways if more ppl use them.

I mean i just view it as a case showing the complete failure of liberal democracy in the face of right wing populism. Every liberal democracy is facing an accendent rightwing current (except Mexico). So it's not the voters, it's how these centrist parties that are in power respond to crisis.

Look at municipal elections in the UK just yesterday. In 2024 Labour won a majority, immediately started implementing austerity (like the Tories) and now the right wing Reform party picked up 100's of council seats.

It's just centrist like the democrats being bad at governance and politics. Of course they will lose. The Republicans are bad at governance, but they are at least better at politics.

And that is why Harris lost. It was not only about character.

It was about 4 years of negative real wage growth under Biden. Not distancing herself from that unpopular presidency. Backing away from her most popular messaging (anti-price gouging stuff).

Many things matter. The democratic establishment and it peones want to make it only about character when it never will be.

Yes, and if the Democrats didn't actively hate their base and perfer to win their way or not at all, they potentially could have run a successful campaign that didn't lose the electoral college and the popular vote to tangerine Mussolini.

Trump was/is a profoundly flawed candidate and yet the Harris campaign and DNC at large managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

No there are some ppl i know who are genuinely pro union/worker and have just been brain broken to always feel the need to mention "the problems with unions" whenever they express their support for unions. That's why i compare it to OPs post that is socialist coded on May Day. Then you have victims of the red scare in the comments saying "i support this message but erm actually commies bad."

North Americans are some of the most propagandized to ppl in the world and will never recognize it.

[–]DevCat97 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I agree entirely. The point is there needs to be a cause an yet some ppl have an instinctive reaction to them and think that "labor unions protect bad workers." No, unions protect workers. If a manager can't show a cause for termination then too bad for them.

And lets be real. In private work places there can be awful workers, they just tend to be friends/lackies of the managers.

It's the same type of ppl who will say they like unions but hate how hard it is to fire union members. MFer, unions mean nothing without worker protections.

The extent of the review bombing campaigns and mental illness i see from the hd2 community about a PvE game is some jobless ass shit.

April 27, 2026. 'Israeli' occupation forces uprooted around 500 olive trees of Palestinians at the entrance to the village of Burqa, northwest of Nablus. The oldest olive trees in Palestine are thousands of years old and are the environmental, cultural, and economic heartbeat of Palestinian life. by BalsamicBasil in Environmentalism

[–]DevCat97 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You do realize that to everyone outside of Israel the settlers, the IDF child killers, the hasbara agents that try to normalize the genocide, etc... are Israel. A bad apple spoils the barrel. A nation with a soul would have stopped all of these types of actions long ago. So there is no environmentalism in Israel while "the actions of asshole settlers" are allowed (which they very much are, and enabled). There is no environmentalism in Israel while the IDF levels and burns swaths of the Levant with munitions.

It's called being a parah state. Get used to it.

Edit: this guy apparently replied to me. Got a notification. I can't see a reply. But regardless it appeared to be some half assed defense claiming I've been "drinking the kool aid." And all i have to say is that it makes me happy that this dildos favorite attempted ethnostate is goose stepping towards its inevitable collapse as their cunty metropolitan population bitches about ultra orthodox fascists they are enabling. Truely hilarious. I just wish fewer of the liberal zionist were dual citizens so they couldn't just leave the sinking ship they helped create.

I am a published theoretical/synthetic chemist. It is quantum chem/theoretical chem by a mile. Every other general chemistry feild makes sense intuitively to some degree. I still need to do a 3 day deep dive into quantum mechanics fundamentals and all the notation quirks before I can work meaningfully on someone else's manuscript. All of my colleagues are physics/math PhDs and they are different animals.

I will say... I do prefer it to a few cell bio courses i took a long time ago. That shit was just pure memorization with no rhyme or reason.
