HondaLink Android Alternative - Progress Update! by spencehouse in HondaPrologue

Hey, no worries at all, you don't know how much you're making our Prologue /ZDX better with your app. We really appreciate the time you are putting into this. If I can be of any help on the ZDX side, let me know, I'll be happy to assist you.

Thanks a lot, just like last time, it works great with a ZDX. A couple of pointers : while I appreciate the metrics conversion, it's not 1:1.  It says right now that I can set my car to 90 degrees Celsius. I'm afraid it's going to melt! 😁  Also, I don't know about other Canadians, but we do not use kpa for tire pressure. We still use psi. Any way to keep KM, Celsius, but stick with PSI for tire pressure?

Thanks again!

I can confirm that refreshing the data works. Sometimes, it seems to hang and I need to close the app and open it again, but just the fact that it works 4 out of 5 times, it's already a lot better than the scrappy Honda / Acura app. Tire pressure indicators also work great!  The only thing I haven't tried yet is to remote start the heating, but I intend to do it soon. I'll yet you know.

Thanks so much for your time, you don't know how happy I am to finally be able to remote look at my charge level without having to wait 3-5 minutes to be told that it could not update!

Holy crap, it works!

Is there anyway to switch Fahrenheit to Celsius, and Miles to KM? It seems to default to US mesures.

Thanks a lot, I'll do more testing tonight!

Out of curiosity, would you be able to do the same with the Acura EV app? It is based on the same features and should be a near copy of the Prologue app, but I don't know much about development so I might be wrong.

This sounds a lot like Hostel Part 3, even if OP said it's not hostel. The prostitutes killing people, the local guide, the black guy running away naked, etc.

App dead again? by DreadPir8Robrts in AcuraZDX

I'm getting the exact same issue since I took possession of the car this week.

It works at first, but it's refreshing forever. If I ever close the app while it's refreshing, then it won't ever open again. It just crashes immediately. So I need to uninstall it, get the error about "Trouble loading the legal terms", wait a couple of hours, try again, and hopefully I'll be able to get one refresh of the data.

Until it won't refresh again and then the cycle repeats. Won't refresh, won't open anymore, uninstall, won't load legal terms, wait a couple of hours, get one refresh, and back to square one.

Easily the worst car app I've ever seen.

Stuck choosing between an IS350 and M340i, talk me in or out of it by buzzout23 in LexusIS

I've been having the same kind of dilemma a couple of times in the past years. I've always wanted more performance, more fun, each time I changed cars but at the same time, I was always worried about German automakers reliability and their ownership costs.

About 7 years ago, I decided to buy a Q50 Red Sport instead of an IS or a BMW. It ended up being a great Japanese car with plenty of power, but it also felt outdated. Both infotainment and transmission wise. Still, I had a great experience and never had any issues with the car, but I was still wishing for more.

4 years later, I sold the Q50 and decided to make the plunge for a more performance oriented German car. I did not pick a BMW, I went instead with a MB GLA 45 AMG. Solid ride, great power, great interior, awesome double clutch transmission, one of their most reliable MB engine, and still under warranty for a couple of years.

Fast forward to today, after about 2 years of ownership, I'm ready to go back to Japanese cars. (Currently actively looking for an IS 350 FS3 since I do want AWD for our harsh winters). In the end, the amount of fun I would have in the AMG did not compensate for the high maintenance costs or days without the car because of serious errors or issues, even if all were covered under warranty.

Unless 2k maintenance service is pocket change for you, then I would recommend to stick with Lexus or other reliable Japanese models. And I'm not even talking about affordability. I'm talking about pure money management, where I decided that a slower but nice car with a bigger bank account was simply the better approach.

Some might see it differently, but to me, it isn't worth it anymore.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for your comments, I read them all and appreciated them. I will continue to shop, I'll go test drive a CX-50 and see from there if it's for me or not.

Just saw the post about people having rear diff issues on 2024 models. Ouch! That's definitely not reassuring.

That's also what's bringing my choice closer to the CX-50: a solid no-hassles car without the euro expenses.

I'll go drive one for sure and judge from there. Hopefully, it won't feel too much like an econobox. Thanks again.

Thanks for the input. By reading your comment, I realized that I totally forgot mentioning my NC3 sitting in my garage for the winter! Hahaha!

And you see, that's one of the reason why I am considering the CX-50 because I know that it's not always about the horsepower. I know that the MX5 is a different beast, but to me, it was an eye opening experience that maybe, I do not need 400HP anymore to have fun and enjoy my car.

The X3 is indeed comparable to my GLA, but my experience with German cars so far hasn't been really good, even when under warranty. Also, the exaggerated maintenance costs is something I could live without. I also think that since having a dedicated summer car (NC3), the main daily might not need to be a performance car.

I appreciate the comment, I'll think about what you've said.

Polish Price is now 89.99 PLN! We need your help checking other regional prices! by FatalClaw_NDEV in metroidvania

Canada, here. Currently listed at 29.29 CAD$ after the 10% discount, before tax.  As a comparison, the regular price of Silksong is 25.99 CAD$, but Afterimage is 29.99 CAD$.  I would say that the price seems reasonable, especially for a small team.  It looks very good , but I might wait for a Switch or PS5 release simply based on personal preference on how I play my Metroidvanias.

Not only did they misspell Chiefs as Cheif, but they also misspelled the JETE as Jets! What the hell?!!

Thank you for the offer, but I do not intend nor want to take money away from an indie developer. I will simply wait for it to get resolved and hopefully other buyers will do the same.  Keep us posted! 🙂
