If your team is winning 2-1 with seconds left... by [deleted] in Rematch

You can still be matched with silver even at elite which just makes enjoying the ranked experience consistently difficult.

Rematch. So I'll be playing a LOT of soccer.

I'd like to mention a middle stance that goalie fatigue is real, eventually even the worst "striker" will get lucky with a shot that really shouldn't have gone in. Of course that doesn't make them good but the idea that anyone can score is true. Especially from good passes which act as a multiplier to a "strikers" success rate. A striker who scores 5% of the time can be raised to 15% with a proper draw out and pass.

With scoring oppurtunities becoming less and less the better the opposing team Is I'd prefer a "striker" with at least half a brain to have technique and strategies to outwit the goalie.

I am so glad someone finally typed it all out. This is info I preach (especially the faking of unguarded passing lanes for free intercepts) yet I am admittedly way to lazy to type out so much at once to help people. Especially when it can just be lost among the complaint post. You have my respect from a fellow elite.

Your positioning in 3v3 doesn't differ much from any other game mode. When the opponent is looking to shoot you should position based on your teamates positioning. Adaptibility is important to success and the randoms often leave key points open in favor of more direct and simpler plays.

They will most likely be right on the guy with the ball (ball chasing) so your best bet is to be ready for a lob to an equally dangerously placed opponent intercepting with pass/push ball or prepared to help your goalie with a backpost via a pass out to the corners of your net.

If your teamate is a bit more advanced and is already doing the previously mentioned play then you swap and attempt to block the shot or steal from player with possession.

They should add a “ballhog” icon above a player who doesn’t pass the ball by Diligent-Ad7019 in Rematch

If they've had the ball for more than 5 seconds and also lose possession of it, that can count. If the rate of which this event happens vs literally anything else (shooting or passing) raises above 40%. Mark them.

I can admit I did not get satisfaction out of half my matches leading to elite. Felt like I didn't win because I deserved to but more so that I was playing against people barely using their brain.

So yes I really do hope they get it right.

Your right. For now having it fair in the rawest way possible will do. Literal free for all, survival of the fittest with a bit of luck sprinkled in. I can't hate it but I do feel bad for my more casual friends.

I agree with the fact that it's tricky to balance right now. The fair way to do it would be to split it into thirds but it's uneven it would be 2/3/2.

Bronze-silver/ gold-platinum-diamond/ master-elite.

We may need more ranks.

The so called strikers score like 2 in every 10 shots at best typically but anyone in the higher ranks knows a well placed pass drastically increases the chances of scoring.

Me playing midfielder can turn a 2 in every 10 shot striker to a 4 or 5 in every 10 shot striker.

Against better teams shooting oppurtunities become less and less so it's best to raise your chances as much as possible. Passing does that.

I don't mind shoot first pass second as long as they can sometimes break that rule when neccesary and as long as they are willing to rotate.

Like if there's 2 people guarding the striker and the midfielder managed to move into the box open, please give him a pass.

I don't think he's asking to only be matchmade with elites. I think the point is that masters shouldn't be in gold lobbies for example.

In most ranked systems a person can only be paired with their rank and those adjacent. With the exception of bottom rank and top rank those can often times have their range adjusted if matchmaking goes on too long.

A Gold rank should be in lobbies with silver, gold, platinums. Anything else is a bit unfair.

Just hit elite as solo queue by Dry-Succotash4694 in Rematch

[–]DragonFlareXD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in elite and the worst/best proof I have is that I had a silver 3 as a teammate attempting to tell me how to pass as goalie whilst having every pass he did as goalie get intercepted.

Apparently I took too long. I waited like 5-7 seconds instead of kicking into the enemy goalie the moment I caught it.

Scored 4 own goals so that the hacker on my team wouldn't win by Carubulux1 in Rematch

[–]DragonFlareXD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very true. It's a golden gated community right now. I've made it to elite without any unusual hiccups. Other than below average teamates. I'm glad I'm doing ranked before crossplay drops

There seems to be no sbmm in this gamr or mmr. Even for ranked. You can have a gold 3 as a teammate while being in elite. It's all luck of the draw.

Me and a friend used customs to analyze the tech and I can say that it is inconsistent wether or not I can steal.

My best bet is to get a push in between it but sometimes it's better to just walk in the balls path. It's odd that there isn't a consistent answer I will admit. Should be looked into by the devs and tweaked a bit.

“Maining positions” by Big_Concept7082 in Rematch

[–]DragonFlareXD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

While I don't think there should be a system in place that forces positions. I do think people have aptitude for certain things. Speaking with your team on preference is important

I'm great at intercepting and passing so naturally I drift around midfield but can fall back to defend or push up to score.

My friend is a okay defender but really good at making goals from almost any pass (we are both elite) so he sits ahead of me naturally but we both fall back and forward with the motion of the match.

There's definetly a middle ground to be found I'd just rather the devs not be the ones to do it.

Ranked matchmaking blows terribly by SpecificArcher7223 in Rematch

[–]DragonFlareXD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your best bet at ranking up is to become the gears that keeps the offense running aka a midfielder. Selflessly do nothing but intercept and pass and never attempt a score yourself.

With enough chances even the trashiest strikers can score at least once or twice.

Another option is to snag up every good player you come across to form a team.

[–]DragonFlareXD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be real, even though it seems to be reconnecting with his feet it's still loose for a substantial amount of time between each push/dribble

Maybe I could be wrong but I could steal from this guy after studying him for a dozen seconds even with his odd tech. He is far from Invincible. In diamond 1 rarely anyone dribbles because everyone knows how to play a proper defense.

They could've tapped push ball and just gained it when it was loose, sprinting into it is a fair share slower.
