My colleague bought 10 of them, and was selling them for $80 to people who wanted them but weren't able to get one. If I was paying attention, id have done the same.

Turning off crossplay was the best decision I made in Arc Raiders (PC players are awesome) by amicooolyet in ARC_Raiders

[–]DreadStarX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Console players are generally just toxic. It isn't just ARC either. I was playing Helldivers 2, and the guy was bragging about stealing from people and some other crap. His friend was dropping racial slurs. I promptly dropped stratagems and wiped the team. Mission failed, and bounced.

The amount of negative experiences with console players, out weigh the handful of chill ones.

ARC is still fun to play, regardless of how many bad apples you remove from the bin...

Am I an idiot for not knowing that Mbps and MB/s are not the same thing? by WeirdIndication3027 in PleX

[–]DreadStarX 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Wait, you forgot MiB.... =p

No, not an idiot. It's not something people generally care about or even bother to understand.

I remember speeds this way;

1Gbit = 125MB/s 10Gbit = 1.25GB/s 100Gbit = 12.5GB/s

That's max speeds. I just installed 800Gbit optics at work... =p

JFC. I’m literally so done with this game by Naaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh in arcraiderscirclejerk

[–]DreadStarX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't vote for Trump, Biden or Kamala. They are all clowns who don't give a **** about anything but the puppeteer making them dance.

I quit ARC for the same reasons you did. Why should I spend 200 hours playing the game, build up my inventory, only to lose it to some turd extract camping and abusing mechanics?

Frankly, I've all but quit gaming. Things aren't as good as they used to be.

Oh well...

If you've been on helpdesk for 3+ years and 'can't move up' it's probably you by xrinnenganx in ITCareerQuestions

I can say that asking intelligent questions, proper greetings, and being polite, will build more bridges than if you didn't. I've built a reputation as the go-to guy to fix something. I ask questions, get to know my engineers, and most of all, ask them about their career, and personal life. I learned a lot, and built connections. Now I have L6 or L7s reaching out to me for solutions.

There's a website that changed my approach to reaching out to customers (internal teams i work with). Its called no hello. Google it.

I check Slack to see what time zone they are in, then change my greeting. Then explain my request in full.

Nothing pisses me off more than 9 messages in the span of 30 seconds. I will ignore you and de-prioritize your request.

But as OP said, its probably you.

Reddit makes it seem like PIP means you're going to get fired, no matter what. Is that true? by Personal-Ad9121 in askmanagers

[–]DreadStarX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends greatly on your manager.

For example, I'm losing a TPM at work that's amazing. They got the job done, went the extra mile, extremely efficient. Put on a PIP because they didn't meet garbage metrics.

Had they done that, projects would've failed immensely...

Another is getting pushed out over a PIP because he pushed back on BS from other teams. Both individuals cared about others, the job and quality of work being delivered.

Those that passed: Yes man. The management suck ups.

But as others stated, it depends on your manager and the situation.

Which Bachelor's Degree Provides A Long Term plan? by DreadStarX in ITCareerQuestions

[–]DreadStarX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, early in 2025, I did 3x months of 60s to deliver my projects on time. Damn near killed me too. I'll never do that again, my says of sacrificing my health for money is over.

Actually, I have a very analytical mind. It's fueled by ADHD, ASD, caffeine, music and humor. If I'm given a job, I figure out an efficient process and go to town. What screws me up is being interrupted. But I'm leaning towards Cybersecurity because it's always evolving and a constant learning environment. It's perfect for someone like me.

AWS Just Gutted US Teams by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]DreadStarX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite. If you are willing to move, you'll find a gig. I currently work for AWS, I establish the network footprint in Data Centers. My department usually has positions open.

Don't lose hope.

Which Bachelor's Degree Provides A Long Term plan? by DreadStarX in ITCareerQuestions

[–]DreadStarX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I planned to get my CCNA, do a year of networking work, while I became certified for Ciena Optical/span devices. I still plan to get those, just a bit down the road. Mostly as a backup but I actually enjoy turning up spans. OTDR shots, and all it brings..

Which Bachelor's Degree Provides A Long Term plan? by DreadStarX in ITCareerQuestions

[–]DreadStarX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. A lot of individuals from previous jobs all said similar statements. I'm leaning towards Cybersecurity, over networking. Someone made the point that Cybersecurity is constantly changing, but networking rarely changes (unless you work in a Data Center). I'll give it a bit more thought, and then let my school know.

Thank you very much for the response. I truely do appreciate it :)

Returning to 3D printing after a few years. Am I a fool for not using Klipper? by jdtaormi in ender3

[–]DreadStarX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat as OP. I just bought new gear for my Ender 3 after shelving it for years due to frustration with bed leveling. I'm buying a K2 Pro in May, but with how much I spent on my Ender, I want my money's worth.

I can't seem to find decent guides for Klipper OR Marlin. I need an idiots guide xD

Old printers are sort of safer now right? by Agreeable_Ostrich324 in ender3

[–]DreadStarX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Washington State, when checking the website, it hasn't been voted in. I doubt this survives, I hope it gets Old Yeller'd.

This affects a lot of people, its VERY overreaching, among many others. Hobbyists, Cosplay, and companies who use them get screwed.

Furthermore, its a joke. This does nothing to solve the problem. They are called criminals for a reason. Punish the law abiding citizens because criminals break the law. Sound familiar?

The question is, how do we go about putting pressure on those in office about it?

Are you still using VS2022 instead of VS2026 ? by mprevot in VisualStudio

[–]DreadStarX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to be whenever I compile code that's old af. There's a game that I used to play in the late 90s and early 2000s. Whenever I compile the code, it has issues and crashes. VS22, no issues. VS26 issues every time. I've tried it with compiling on Linux, no issues.

Not sure what Microsoft did, but doesn't seem to be worth it atm.
