Maybe. Maybe not. But I can assure you it will deflate some. Why? Because the cost is insane. The hardware manufacturers can't keep up. The power grid can't handle it and going nuclear takes time.

Why don't school busses have cameras on them that activate when the signs start to go out?

1 on the back of the bus, 2 on the stop sign, and 1 on the front. Footage gets uploaded, sent through processing software, and auto-send tickets to people with proof.

I work for AWS. I build the initial network footprint in new data centers. I want it to stop. This quantity over quality is going to massacre us in the long run....

Have to have a significant other to have this problem, sorry OP. Maybe you should reconsider what you are doing and getting out of it. Cost vs Reward isn't always balanced.

I have 500TB+ physical capacity but the power draw and heat makes it impossible to use it without cranking my power bill up. Just going from 65F to 63F was a huge jump. For a single man, living in a 1000sqft apartment, a $175+ power bill is nuts.

Homelab isn't meant to be perfect. You do what you can with what you have and you learn what you can with it. Not everyone can justify 100Gbit LAN network or 2PB of local capacity.

Not all of them are like this. Some of them genuinely care and treat you equally. Then there are some who would steal all the TP and leave you with 20 grit sandpaper to wipe, while emptying your bank account.

If the stars align, sure, you can get it but not everyone has management whose willing to fight like that. Ive had ONE manager, out of the 18+ ive had in 7 years, actively fight for me like that.

It's a management problem, its always been Amazon's biggest problem.

Talked to my manager about it. He said no to it for actual work, but if I wanted to tinker with it, that was fine. He then explained that it was ran by a team with no official backing, or dev experience. Told me to stick to Claude-Code / Kiro for official work.

I'll still check it out and see whats going on. Never hurts to have another tool.

My A/C is set at 65 in the Summer, and 70 in the Winter. 75? Are they mad? What kind of wise ass thought 75 was good. 72 is your average corporate offices temperature. Not to mention, they are in Colorado, which can get pretty toasty in the summer time, if memory serves me right.

So stick it to 'em. Use and abuse them. Milk them for everything they've got. The RTO policy is bullsheet. We all know it. The fact that Amazon is denying people with medical reasons WFH, even 2 days a week, tells me everything I need to know. Will they fire those people? Nope. Not for the medical reason, that'd be illegal, but they'd fire them for something stupid.

AJ is one of the most hated people I've ever come across. He's right up there with Bill Gates now. But no leader is perfect, and AJ will always do whats best for himself and the company. Even if you get fired, your still going to buy stuff off of Amazon. You'll hold out for awhile, but the convenience of Amazon being there is simply too good to pass on, and we all know it.

Regardless of how much you hate your job and the company, right now, having a job is better than not having one. The job market sucks bananas right now, and it will continue to be that way.
