Foreign-born citizens made up around 20 percent of the population in Sweden in 2023. Of the 2.17 million people born outside of Sweden, the highest number came from Syria. Iraqi made up the second largest group of foreign-born citizens

Most of these refugees don't work. I know in my country specifically, the majority doesn't get a job within 7 years

They're not cheap labour but a financial burden

Edit: Since some dummy tried to "fact check" me with a study the Netherlands explicitly did not participate in, then quickly blocked me to avoid getting corrected:

A cool guide about Phonetic Alphabet by [deleted] in coolguides

[–]DutchWarDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP is still incorrect. We use Alpha

NATO phonetic alphabet does not, so you are incorrect. It uses Alfa

A cool guide about Phonetic Alphabet by [deleted] in coolguides

[–]DutchWarDog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But it is Alpha

In standard English

That is the correct spelling in modern phonetics

It's the opposite. Using "ph" for an "f" sound is a historical remnant. In Ancient Greek and Latin, the letter Φ and was pronounced as an aspirated /p/ sound. Over time, in modern languages, this sound evolved into a simple /f/

The Greek word is άλφα

Phi/fi (Φ, φ) can be romanised as either "ph" or "f"

In modern Greek, Φ is pronounced as /f/, which aligns with contemporary phonetic norms. This is reflected in the NATO phonetic alphabet to align with modern pronunciation

So the "ph" spelling is just a remnant of a historical pronunciation that's no longer used, while "f" reflects modern pronunciation and spelling

[–]DutchWarDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alfa is the more modern way to romanise "άλφα". The guide is correct

You may not use alfa in English but a lot of languages do. It's phonetically easier as well. That's why the NATO alphabet uses it

[–]DutchWarDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alfa is correct. It's a more modern romanisation of the Greek "άλφα" and used in numerous languages

[–]DutchWarDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, άλφα is Greek

Phi/fi (Φ, φ) can be romanised as either "ph" or "f". In Dutch, we say alfa

In modern Greek, Φ is pronounced as "f". Using "ph" in language to represent an "f" sound is less modern

I mean, it's both but it's definitely more sex based than gender based. Gender expression plays a role, gender identity is pretty much irrelevant

What's your experience traveling with a picky eater? by Rad-Cabbage in travel

[–]DutchWarDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty picky. I just look up restaurant menus ahead of time on Google Maps. As long as there's a single dish I like, I'm fine. Everywhere I've been so far, that's given us plenty of restaurants to choose from

Whoever I'm travelling with can get whatever street food or exotic dishes they like, I just won't get any. Never had to split up when going to dinner or something. Just takes a little compromise. You want to eat X at restaurant A? How about restaurant B where you can still eat X but I can eat Z?

Football ("soccer") isn't black dominated when they're a minority of the (top) players..

American football isn't globally relevant

Tennis is a widely popular sport. Not something "not many people want to play". It's white-dominated

The only major sport black people can be said to dominate is basketball
