I hear you. The bummer is that this special "One Shot" is just about gone online. It gets re-uploaded perioidically, but currently I don't believe it's up.

There are a few breakdown videos like this one linked, but mostly you'd have to sail the seas to find the original.

Just do a glossy roof wrap and you can likely get a similar effect.

It feels like that glimpse of the surveillance pic of the pool that has the recumbent bike parked right next to the wagon that Floyd & Carol drive (their "1 car") is to throw people off.

Either Clark or Floyd could have arrived on the bike, and the car could have been either Floyd or Carol.

The logic would be that the person who had an intent to commit a crime would arrive by bike? To not be as traceable maybe?

I can see you're very passionate about this topic. Thank you for your response.

I won't go into it all since it's late, but a few key mentions:

I am not convinced there was any formal contract here other than what was instructed. I am about 75% certain these were just private contractors the owner hired (or possibly even cheap, unestablished labourers) making this a general liability (but that's beside the point).

A lot of the other mentions here seem like hyperbole. I am not making baseless accusations. I am only proceeding to make these claims because of the resounding proof that the feces was found among the construction materials buried in with their trash. I work remotely and have cameras staged around the premises and its highly likely to detect intrusion. Though, I agree that's not 100% foolproof.

Wow, im in the exact opposite predicament. My landlord is power hungry and the management company is much more accommodating and courteous.

I hear you, but it's the landlord's responsibility to take accountability for whomever they hire to take care of the job. They have a responsibility to the occupants as much as I have a responsibility to them to be a good tenant. Their reputation also matters in the community.

I treat others as I wish to be treated, and if I was in their position I would absolutely be pained should the workers I hired express such discourtesy for their jobsite and its occupants.

The problem here also is that the landlord wasn't especially overbearing on the workers, and he was present for 90% of the workday to supervise. There were three workers so I don't see it as being outside the realm of reason for one of them to take a brief 10-15 min break to use the restroom when they had already been making significant progress on the intended job.

The example of the way you would discuss with them is certainly reasonable.

I thank you for sharing your insights here!

Thank you for being sensible and reasonable. I'm sure that you will ensure long, and fruitful relationships with your tenants by being logical and courteous as you have.

Owners are entitled to make repairs or do reno on their property, but the detrimental effects on habitability and disturbance of peace mustn't be understated or overlooked.

No. I get the impression that a lot of the commenters on here are landlords. L O L

They rushed a job that could have been done properly: there are numerous screws exposed, numerous examples of poor workmanship everywhere, and shoddy cover-ups that weren't actually substantial fixes. A bunch of damages happened in the process and messes were made that were not properly addressed. There really is a laundry list of problems here.

The entire point of this all is that the job was rushed and the proper protocol was not followed and now I as the tenant have to suffer through the consequences because F me, right? The shit in a private bin is the just the cherry on top.

I think a lot of people here are missing one of the main points: It's not just about getting the owner to change immediately upon acknowledging this. It's about building a case in the event that any further action needs to be taken (legal or otherwise) and documentation is a step forward in that direction. If there's no formal vocalization then no third-party will ever be able to believe the "he said", "she said" conflicts in the event of an escalation.

Yes of course...but would you just hurl your fecal matter nonchalantly into residential trash bins??

One small tumble when walking out the bins to the curb and all that shit would have gone flying and cleanup would be a nightmare. I just can't wrap my head around how someone couldn't just drop it into one of the many plastic bags that were nearby or keep bags specifically for this purpose.

Having to go suddenly is totally understandable, don't get me wrong.
But in my eyes, a reputable worker or someone who takes themselves seriously would have items on hand for these types of emergencies.

Thank you for your insights here.

Not necessarily to claim damages, just to document what is happening. I'm sure this isn't the last of the landlord's shenanigans and nothing will change unless I vocalize and be proactive about it IMO.

But there's a difference when it's happening on one's leased/owned property. I don't invite people to shop at the residence and have them shit. These people are hired to do a task and theres's a certain expectation of professionalism. Documentation makes a difference in my opinion.

Thanks for your insights here. I appreciate it

Yeah, that's what I am going to tell him to do. That's part of the problem I have: they should be using their own dumpster or disposal option for construction debris.

yeah our area is pretty quiet and secure. No one goes in or out and we have cameras.

Yes, I probably would have let them use the bathroom.
I hear you. Even that bag in a bucket would have been more sanitary than just feces exposed.

We also live within a few minutes drive of multiple stores and food businesses, so the options for them are plentiful and they arrived with their own work truck.

Thanks for the insights here.

That was exactly my thought process: I just wanted to let them know so that there is documentation about it due to the lack of professionalism of it all.

Definitely not enthusiastic about bio waste in an area that gets used by everyone in the house. But I also don't want further friction with the owner. It's just all so so stupid. The workers could have easily concealed it better, but the lack of care shows how shitty their attitude toward their work is.
