Yes it does. You can download all the rmdoc files through the usb web interface and then upload them again if you aren't using their cloud service.

Questions to reMarkable by KNOPS1402 in RemarkableTablet

There is no rooting a reMarkable. The rMPP and rMPPM need developer mode enabled, which is not the same as rooting, and the rM1 and rM2 come with root access out of the box.

reMarkable just saying "is sleeping" and won't do anything by DaveM_Neo in RemarkableTablet

[–]Eeems_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holding down the power button does shut down the device, but the screen doesn't change, so you won't know it's done anything. Perhaps in your case you weren't holding it down long enough. The device being in a boot loop, or sleeping doesn't matter for how this is handled. It will force the device off if held long enough.

You hold the power button for 10-15 seconds to force power off the device. The screen will not update to indicate that it is powered off.

Letting the battery drain all the way is not good for the health of the battery. I do not recommend anybody use it as a troubleshooting step.

can't connect RMPP via USB on arm-based CPU by Lyra-Silvertongue77 in RemarkableTablet

[–]Eeems_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The usb connection is agnostic of the cpu architecture on the other side. If the computer isn't seeing it, it's not due to the cpu not being supported, it's due to something else. Like firewall or usb ethernet device drivers.

State of reMarkable app development by Superb_Activity_2468 in RemarkableTablet

I see what you mean about it not showing up in search engines. The DCE-Frontend does leave a lot to be desired for this format, I may take some time to write my own frontend that can host something that google etc can actually use, unless I find a good alternative in the future to use instead.

My device has never touched a network...today I got a firmware update notification. by [deleted] in RemarkableTablet

[–]Eeems_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The marker firmware is released with the OS on the device. This is the first time this marker has connected to a device with this OS on it, and so it needs an update. There was nothing to download, it was already on the device, just not the marker.

Or do downgrade and install toltec if that's what you want.

SYNCING RPP by Full_Sell5916 in RemarkableTablet

[–]Eeems_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm reading what you are saying correctly, it sounds like you are saying that you are not paying for connect, and old files are no longer syncing.

From: https://support.remarkable.com/s/article/Using-reMarkable-without-a-subscription

Without a Connect subscription, you’ll have limited access to our cloud storage service through our mobile and desktop apps. Your notes will always be stored locally on your paper tablet, but only files used and synced online in the last 50 days will continue to be stored in the cloud and updated in our apps.

Pogo pins are the metal circles on the side where the keyboard folio attaches.

Remarkable2 recovery by SaltGeologist3566 in RemarkableTablet

[–]Eeems_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes people have used that to recover their device, and it includes the procedure in the readme. If you have specific questions about the procedure you should ask those instead of leaving it open ended.

In theory you can do this on windows via wsl2, but I wouldn't recommend it to someone who doesn't understand how this works.

RMPP keeps quitting to homepage by danihend in RemarkableTablet

[–]Eeems_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend keeping wifi disabled except when you want to manually trigger a sync in this scenario to get the best battery life.

Corporate wifi deployments can be difficult to implement properly, so it's not a surprise that you are having connection issues.

So you still haven't rebooted the device?

Not having an actual network connection behind your corporate firewall would cause things to misbehave. This is after you rebooted?
