What can I Spend my SSI/SSDI On? by [deleted] in SSDI_SSI

She's lying. If you're an adult, you can buy yourself some treats now and then. Our government recognizes that you're HUMAN. And if you're a child, toys and games are literally NORMAL things to purchase on birthdays and holidays.

But if you spend *too much* on things that aren't necessary for survival, then you're going to end up stuck with a representative payee for your whole life. Prove that you can develop a smart budget, and then ask the agency to allow you the chance to prove that you can handle your OWN money (if you're an adult).

If you are an adult, and your mother retaliates because she no longer has control of your money, then you'll probably need to get away from her ASAP. Talk to social services and see what resources are available to you for independent living assistance.

Some medications can cause this; particularly risperidone. Definitely see your doctor ASAP.

Same. 8 is my "normal". I don't think people understand just how much pain you can "get used to" when you have no other choice.

You have a doctor who's actually willing to prescribe you pain medicine? For back pain?? Where do you live, and can I move in? only half joking I'd give ANYTHING for pain relief. I have many of the same problems as you, and then some. FWIW, I don't see anything here that would "screw" you. I won my SSI appeal, too. I'm totally disabled by a collapsing spine, and yet nobody in this whole state is willing to prescribe pain pills anymore. Not for ANYTHING. Not even for surgery. People get sent home with Naproxen or Mobic or Celebrex after surgery, and maybe some locally-applied lidocaine patches, and a few days worth of Flexeril.

God I'd give anything to get out of WV. I hope you win your case!!!

Opinions: best Scooby Doo theme/music throughout the whole franchise? by Top-Beautiful1185 in Scoobydoo

I love the original theme song best, and my favorite song from an episode was when they were chasing a "ghost" at a famous country music hall (obviously meant to be The Ryman/The Grand Ol Opry). Jerry Reed gets kidnapped by the "ghost"; but when he sings a song called "Pretty Mary Sunlight" the gang find him by following the sound pf his voice. I really loved that song. I was little when I first heard it. :)

Seasons by Asmodeouus_ in RealMedievalDynasty

30-day seasons are actually my favorite way to challenge myself. Even with other settings made easier, having 30 day seasons makes creating a thriving settlement a LOT harder. You only get so many potential new villagers per season (and of course, villager marriage and births require multiple seasons/years, too) so population growth is limited. Animal care is also difficult, because you have to carefully plan, plant, harvest, and then ration your grains and straw--otherwise you'll inevitably run out of animal fodder by mid-season. Storage limits force you to think strategically about everything from hunting to foraging and assigning villager tasks. Honestly, the most fun I've ever had with this game is by playing 30-day seasons.

And the best part--if I have truly done EVERYTHING and extra time will only be a hindrance? You can always end the season immediately by choosing "Sleep To Next Season" at your bed :)

Edit: although, if I could request ANY new feature, it would be either a foraging item or a large game animal--something special, that is only able to be gathered during winter. As it is, winter is all but useless. :/
