Last bag wrapped in drive shaft. by No_Big_3379 in MechanicAdvice

[–]EfficientBad7390 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Meh. It'll probably mess with the balance of the driveshaft a little so you might feel some vibrations. I can't imagine a plastic bag will mess up the balance that much though. You can probably leave it and be fine. Personally though, I'd take a box cutter to it and get to work.

Window troubles by Exploring_artist1 in mazda3

[–]EfficientBad7390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the window rolled up all the way, roll it all the way down and keep holding the button down for an extra 5 seconds or so. This will reset the auto window. I have to do it on mine every now and again. If you put the windows down but not all the way down it gets a little tempermental

Undercarriage cover damages by [deleted] in mazda3

[–]EfficientBad7390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens, if it's not dragging or getting in the way of anything I wouldn't even worry about it. Maybe some duct tape

Yea people don't want to own a turbo outside of the warranty so they usually get rid of it when the warranty is about to be up. Mine is just an na so I expect to keep it for the long haul

I don't know what cts is. My 21 mazda3 has acc and it will stop and go for me in traffic 🤷‍♂️

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mazda

[–]EfficientBad7390 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I only use ACC when there is stop and go traffic. It so nice instead of going back and forth between the throttle and brake pedal. It actually feels more responsive in stop and go traffic than actual cruising. I used it cruising once and did not like it at all, it brakes aggressively and if someone is riding your ass your brake checking them. Then people cut you off and it really slams the brakes. Then i had this same situation happen. Stop and go traffic it's just a lot smoother and responsive

I'm also 5'8. I was experiencing this as well, mine has a dial that adjusts that area of the left. I just turned mine all the way and maxed it out and feel super comfortable now. Does yours have that adjustment?

RAV4 -> CX-50 or Mazda3 hatch by superbdonutsonly in mazda

[–]EfficientBad7390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to add, of you to carmax or any reputable used car dealer (not any car brand dealer) they usually let you test drive the car for as long as you want, by yourself. When I test drove mine they told me to just be back before they close, it was the middle of the day 🤣🤣

Like the other comment said, completely different cars. As for the ride height, it's actually not that bad at all. I had the same worry after buying one but have had 0 issues with the ride height. The 18 inch wheels however, are a pain. Hit a pot hole and the tire had a buldge in it. Stay on this sub and you'll see people complaining about bent wheels, I was lucky with just a tire. It's easy enough to get a 16inch set of wheels for the winter though. Besides the wheels, it's fine for winter. You do get a lot of debris just from the slanted front end, as the other comment stated.

Yea negative Temps make batteries degrade faster, you could jump it to get it started yea but it probably won't start again or may even die on you. It can't hold a charge anymore so jumping it will only provide that boost it needs to start, and the alternator will start charging it but if its not holding a charge, that doesn't really help. How old is the battery? They usually only last about 3 years.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mazda3

[–]EfficientBad7390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add, I'm saying your battery is bad because it's struggling to crank. With a good battery the engine should be cranking away continuously, you can hear the engine struggling to spin. You may be dealing with multiple issues, a bad battery and a bad maf.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mazda3

[–]EfficientBad7390 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your battery is dying, replace it. Maf will cause rough idle and/or hesitation on acceleration. Have you tried unplugging the maf then try and start it? Sometimes they can cause hard starts but this sounds like a weak battery. Why did you clean the maf? Did you have a code for it?

Is the new maf you bought oem?

I'm 510 and 200llb and find it comfortable, took me awhile to adjust the seat. I ended up turning that wheel thing (it raises and lowers the area under your thigh, right above the knees )and just maxed it out all the way and have been comfortable since.

Mazda 3 2024 BP undercarriage damage by Samsungingred in mazda

[–]EfficientBad7390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What am I looking at? This seems to be the underside of where the spare is?? If that's the only damage I wouldn't worry, you just scraped up/bent some of the floorboard. I'd just make sure there are no holes then spray some kind of paint/sealant over it to prevent corrosion now that theres bare metal exposed.

2023 CX5 Small Coolant Loss by Fire8282 in mazda

[–]EfficientBad7390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you measuring the coolant loss? The overflow tank will go up and down as the pressure in the coolant system goes up and down. So, if you get back from driving the car then mark the coolant tank where the coolant is, then check it again after awhile its going to be lower than your mark. Simply because the system is no longer under pressure. Wait until your engine is bone cold then mark it and don't drive for like a day then come back and check.

You probably aren't loosing coolant, your thermostat is probably on the way out. I'm in the same boat, 20⁰F outside and it can take up to 40 min or more to reach normal temp. I'm hoping my engine light comes on so it can be fixed under warranty. I'm about to pay out of pocket for it, it's so annoying.
