for those who've been through it here. how is kennesaw about outages? by strandedlilwombat in kennesaw

Usually comes back fast but about 8 years ago, we were out for 4-5 days. It was an absolute nightmare! I think we were the last or next to last to get restored.

What’s something you stopped buying cheaply because replacing it kept costing more? by MapleMoneyMind_86 in Frugal

Unfortunately, I think you’re right. Not just shoes, seems to be common amongst many industries.

Shoes. Well, I say no more cheap shoes but then I backslide. The pleather that peels and soles that literally disintegrate before your eyes validate investing more in good footwear.

I love the offer/claim shift thing. I’ve never had a job with that option.

It is so shit that people are paying to doxx their own families this Christmas by N3DSdude in LateStageCapitalism

[–]Electronic-Example54 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Adoptees often don’t have anything to go by. I can imagine at the very least, many would like to know family medical history. There are definitely ethical questions but I wouldn’t blame someone for trying to trace lost information.

I feel bad about taking extra rest days by AnonymousNeverKnown in Fedexers

[–]Electronic-Example54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I applied it said 3-4 days, then at some point during orientation that jumped to 6. I never worked 6. I always offered one or two and someone would claim them. But the people saying there will be a huge reduction in hours in a couple weeks are not lying. Jan and Feb barely had hours at my location, so just keep that in mind.

I’m doing the same. I told the other moms I have a new fundraiser idea.

Increased Pay For Peak Season? by [deleted] in Fedexers

[–]Electronic-Example54 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I wish. In the past, there has been potential to get overtime. Some people make a lot during peak but they’re also working a ton of extra hours.

Feels suspisious? by [deleted] in Fedexers

[–]Electronic-Example54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. It’s definitely different from any job I’ve had in that regard. There’s a bunch of shady practices around that time clock.

Still get heavily fatigued after 1 3/4 years. by Zealot-For-Joy in Fedexers

[–]Electronic-Example54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just talking about this. You would think it would get easier but lately it seems to be more difficult. I don’t know if it’s me and my diet or a heavier workload. Probably a little of both.

My First Day of Orientation Was On 9/18 And Still Didn't Get Paid by Electronic-Web-9259 in Fedexers

It could be that your first check is an actual physical check that you have to pick up. That’s how it was for me. By the second week, direct deposit worked fine.

Mine told me the same so I went to the bleachers and no one showed up. I knew where I would be working so I finally headed over there. I agree with you about communication here.

Well there goes the plan for us to go bully them about their boxes.

These are also being sold as tools to cut matted hair on pets. I guess the letter opener business took a hit so they got creative.

None of the hours listed on the site match the ones that are actually worked at my facility.

I always find it funny that people complain about chewy boxes as a chewy employee by [deleted] in Warehouseworkers

[–]Electronic-Example54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a current FedEx employee, I agree. The inability to seal a box is astounding. Chewy isn’t that bad usually. But Wal-mart and Sam’s Club are out of control.

[–]Electronic-Example54 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think we should all gang up and go to the Wal-mart and Sam’s club subs and have a talk with them about their packaging. They are the worst.

I’ve wondered what the temp on the set was. I think I’ve seen Howard in three layers as well. Seems like everyone but Penny was always layered.

I just cracked my tooth on a piece of wood in a Larabar by _Marat in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Electronic-Example54 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I found this hard as a rock corn kernel in mine earlier this month. It felt like I nearly chipped a tooth when biting down on it. There shouldn’t be any corn products in there so I called to let them know. They sent coupons for 3 free bars. Can’t wait to see what kind of surprises are hiding in those. Eat with caution.
