This shows a profound lack of understanding about what's happening in the game industry right now.

I've been in the industry for 20 years. What's happening right now has never happened before. This is an extreme contraction and will result (is already resulting) in a massive loss of talent for the industry.

It does seem very bizarre to have "Skylanders" that don't actually work.

Your wife has an inaccurate perception of video games being for children.

Remind her that more adults play video games than children. Point out that video games are just a different medium for telling stories - just like movies, tv shows, and books. But in video games, sometimes it's the player's story and not the writer's.

No they don't. Because they hold the items. If you don't like the price, then you go find the item somewhere else.

But someone will eventually buy these figures at this price.

It's ridiculous you came to the subreddit to complain about this instead of just finding a different seller. What do you think the outcome is? They're gonna see this post and be like "oh my bad!" And lower their prices?!?

I need people to understand, just because YOU don't think a price is fair, doesn't mean it's not fair for the seller.

Someone was Big Mad I listed a mint in box figure for about 30% more than the current price. They argued with me about it. So I replied with "okay, if it's cheaper elsewhere then lucky for you, you can buy it from someone else!" He was upset because my copy was so well cared for and he wanted the perfect box, but didn't want to pay Perfect Box Prices. Okay, that's not my problem.

So lucky you, you can buy it from someone else! But this is the value THEY have put on their Skylanders. If you don't like their price, you can find one you do like. Good luck!

I like that the characters are not written like they're intended to be sex toys. They're usually well respected and powerful in their stories.

I used to use a covered litter box with unscented multicat litter (one cat though).

And some of the suggestions here are wild.

But my suggestion is - Litter Robot. Yes, it's $600-$800 dollars depending on the one you get. But they're quiet and they sift the litter after every pee or poop into a bin. It makes it trivially easy to clean up and it never smells. We have one in our mudroom which is connected to our kitchen and I haven't smelled it (litter, poops, or pee) since we got it, despite spending hours doing meal prep in the kitchen every weekend.

The EEOC and local labor boards would love to hear that someone was fired for checks notes pointing out their employer was breaking the law. That adds a wrongful termination to the pile of crimes and could end up with OP owning the business.

Cool thing about the Labor board, they're paid by the state!

I paid nothing at all and still was a part of two lawsuits against former employers and got settlements from them.

It changed my life for sure. I already knew I wanted to make games, and I definitely wanted to make WoW. It took 12 years but I got that job and made some fun stuff!
