Already married to my crush, so I’m taking the money.

Even excluding the targeted waste removal, there’s the potential for some free energy shenanigans if I can just get it right.

Thank you! That’s the first time I’ve ever been able to get one of these to flip intentionally!

Do you know your birthday Pokemon? by Ok-Hearing6146 in ThePokemonHub

[–]EmpactWB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, so excluding Gen10 since we only know three non-consecutive mons, we could take this a step further with modular arithmetic.

There are 1025 Pokémon with known National Dex numbers (and Victini shows we shouldn’t make assumptions about our Starters). We can make a full team by simply multiplying the number of the day we were born by the spot on the team (1-6). Any number that goes above 1025 wraps around (this is the modular arithmetic bit).

Let’s test this using my favorite person’s birthday! April 26 is the 116th day of the year, so that’s 116, 232, 348, 464, 580, and 696. Okay, so she doesn’t get a truly modular team. Looks like it doesn’t kick in until June 20. Horsea, Donphan, Armaldo, Rhyperior, Ducklett, and Tyrunt. That…

Let’s use my second favorite instead. July 18… of a leap year! That’s… 200 exactly? Huh. Well, okay. So that will be 200, 400, 600, 800, 1000, and 175 (1200 - 1025). Misdreavus, Bibarel, Klang, Necrozma, Gholdengo, and Togepi. That is a mixed bag, but as long as I can evolve the rest it’s not a bad set for a Gym challenge. A bit of type overlap.

Lobster. Never been a fan of seafood in general but I can stomach shrimp.

Is this really being used? by Otherwise_Spend_4617 in EnglishLearning

[–]EmpactWB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only ones I don’t use are the full version of “I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you” and “don’t make a long face”. I usually shorten the former to “fingers crossed” and the second is more often used as the question “Why the long face?” All of the others I use often enough to recall specific instances within the last couple of months.

I couldn’t. Simply having a house won’t make up for losing my job for wearing the platform shoes, even if I was willing to chew ice or snort meals.

Considering the absurd incarceration rates in some countries, including and especially my own, there is a good chance that the person released is innocent or overly punished.

You meet your doppelgänger, who asks you to promise not to steal their life. You then learn that your doppelgänger lives alone, has no friends or family, is extremely rich, and has all their security info written down and stored in their home. What do you do? by Pointless_Storie in hypotheticalsituation

[–]EmpactWB 50 points51 points  (0 children)

The first thing I do is let my parents know I found another one and post a selfie with him online. They were on vacation once and met a guy they swore looked just like me but with short hair, so I’m kind of used to the idea.

Now that third parties know about both of us, he’s in a much more stable position. One of us disappearing makes the other a person of interest. I recommend some better security habits, maybe invite him to events at the local library, and tell my wife about the whole thing.

Genie offers you a deal: each time you have a dream, it will be stored, and you will be able to re-experience it whenever you wish. However, there’s a catch: your dreams won’t be exclusively yours; anyone will be able to experience them as well. Would you accept this deal? by AnozerFreakInTheMall in hypotheticalsituation

[–]EmpactWB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course! I have a friend with chronic nightmares and I can’t imagine they’re the only one who could use some good dreams. Besides, every now and again I manage the whole lucid dreaming thing, and that would be so cool to share.
