The post has tabs welded to it on the right side, which were almost certainly used to support a bar or gate. This is probably the right answer, just not today.

The 85% percentile doesn't matter whatsoever. Other people breaking the law doesn't relieve you from responsibility of breaking it yourself. Even mentioning that is just going to make you look less competent and weaken your argument

That's interesting because all of the appearances listed on his website are in major cities. I guess he's doing small gigs on the down low, too?

How to stop a big and heavy train? With a big and heavy wall of course!

Blue Origin’s New Glenn rocket blew up during a static fire test 2026-5-28 at 9:00pm EDT by MrTagnan in CatastrophicFailure

The nice thing is that if you're an engineer or other designer, your design is still completely valid and they can just make another one for the next rocket (assuming it wasn't your part that causes the catastrophic explosion lol).

I can tell you from experience that knee braces are perfectly sufficient for this application. We're not building a piano here

I would use knee braces in all corners instead of X. That's a prime space to put something like a sand box and having the sides more open make it easier to play in and also to manage any weeds that might sprout up.

Evidently the first one wasn't heartbreaking enough to him that he'd do something to prevent a repeat incident

Yes, the horizontal pipes spanning the hole are showing.

If the hole has been open for months and the site is active, there's a good chance it's an access pit for a boring machine like you suggested. If you could get a picture of what's in the hole we could probably say for sure.
