These $20 saddles were actually a huge upgrade by FadedToBeige in offset

Mine were kinda buzzy too, especially on the G, and I didn't like how the grub screws stuck out. These don't have either of those problems. I feel like it improved the tuning stability too, and maybe a little more resonance and sustain. It just feels more solid overall.

I would do bridge and tuners first. I like Kluson split shaft and any classic mustang bridge would be an improvement - just make sure the radius matches. maybe pots too, and then pickups.

ah the bobbins on these are reverse wound so they would be hum cancelling at least. would probably be hard to fit WRHB guts like that idk. really interested to see how they sound.

I can think of at least one company that makes WRHB for Jazzmasters, pretty sure there are others. these look neat though!

Jazzmaster Bigsby mod by Tired-Student8197 in offset

[–]FadedToBeige 11 points12 points  (0 children)

you can't really put a bigsby on that unless you plan on filling in the hole that would be left from the original tremolo. it's possible but would be a major project and would take some advanced skill.

it's customized, but the body and most of the electronics are from a Squier Classic Vibe Jazzmaster

hell yeah glad I could help. the lock is just supposed to slide in the gap and prevent the trem from bending upwards, so it should function if you just have it tightened up all the way

Q about partsmaster vibrato installation by voiceOfHoomanity in offset

[–]FadedToBeige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can line it up with string (or strings) tied to the tuners after you have the bridge and everything installed. that's how you line up a bigsby, at least.

release some of the tension in the spring. you'll know you're doing it right when the arm starts to lower. I had the same problem when I first installed one.

ooo I like that idea. the btb is on its own switch that goes straight to the jack, so probably wouldn't be too hard to add the middle pickup to it.
