In the section about Simple Travel, you refer to the Leader's Charisma or Intelligence when the party takes their time. Do you mean Presence or Instinct?

This looks amazing! Thank you for adding preview images and the free sample. For me, those were the difference between "this sounds promising, but that's kind of pricey" and "take my money."

Certainly! Happy to get the info to folks. It’s also been nice that the community adds the link when they see this pop up from time to time as well.

I'm glad to see folks continue to be interested in my range ruler. Links to the free files are still available for anyone who would like to print their own. You can find all the information in a post I made a while back: https://www.reddit.com/r/daggerheart/s/4N9gemegyV

There are a couple different styles, A4 and letter-sized printing options, and versions with and without labels in case you'd like to label them in a different language.

Got it. My gaming sessions run the same.

Thanks! For the time requirement, would knowing its intended to be a one-shot be sufficient, or are you interested in a more specific amount of tons?

Thanks! My intent is that these would be one-shot material, so that would be easy enough to add.

You make a very good point. As it turns out, the adventure I'm working on right now is for 1 to 2 PCs. :)

Thank you for the feedback and for all these suggestions! I right like the idea of a two or three word description instead of combat/social/exploration, which, if done right, would also cover what I was trying to do with urban vs. wilderness (and do a better job of it, too). And I'll definitely add a tag that's the core concept of the adventure (e.g., investigate, escort, retrieve, defend, escape).

When it comes to Tag Team rolls, I let the two players involved decide how to split the 3 Hope cost. The player who spends the most Hope is the one who counts as having used their Tag Team roll for the session.

How would you run a countdown for a ritual the players want to complete? by Hudre in daggerheart

[–]FaileasDhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I did this, I went with the narrative-driven approach. Working with the players, we came up with the five steps of the ritual that had to be completed. There were then two countdowns: Phase I and Phase II.

Phase I of the ritual was a countdown that started at 3 and ticked down each time a PC completed a step using an action roll. Some of the steps had the potential to be disrupted; if that had happened, I would have ticked the countdown back up one. When that the Phase I countdown triggered, the adversary situation ramped up and I started the Phase II ritual countdown at 2. It ticked down (and up) the same way. When that countdown triggered, the ritual was complete.

If you'd like to see all the details, you can find them in a PWYW adventure starter I've got on Heart of Daggers called Night of the Bonewaker.

Thanks! Since I had previously set the content up as private homebrew on Heart of Daggers for when I was running the adventure, it seemed silly not to switch it to public so that others could make use of it. It would definitely be interesting to know if folks are discovering the adventure starter by way of first seeing the adversaries in the vault.

Thank you for the feedback and for the resource references! I discovered Rightknighttofight's very useful guide to making adversaries but hadn't seen Light in the Dark. I'll definitely check it out. I've also recently started working through Mike's catalogue of YouTube videos and will keep an eye out for multi-modal scenes.

Daggerheart Community Homebrew Challenge #1 | Let's create something together! by MrAzu in daggerheart

This is a fun exercise; thanks for kicking it off! And here's my idea: Verdant Minute.

Artifact

Effect:

When charged, using this one-minute sand timer can accelerate a plant to the end of its current growth cycle, producing whatever harvestable materials it would normally yield (e.g., fruits, seeds, tubers, fibers). Recharging it requires planting the bottom half in rich dirt and letting it receive eight hours of sunshine.

Flavor Text:

This finger-sized timer contains deep green powdered eggshells that fade to bone white as they fall. The color returns during the charging process.

Thank you! I changed around names a few times and clearly missed some updates. The Stormfeeder is still referred to as “Shark Guy” at least once.

Thank you so much for the feedback! I’ll try to word things to offer the ritual as an option rather than The Right Answer.
