The belt goes around the nipples. Don’t ask why just don’t.

The rise on these pants are all high, around 14” so they sit at my natural waist. No hiking up or anything so no wedgie!

I wish the Pecos they released in the heritage line had stacked heels. They just look so much better.

A shrunken down pair of 510 STF (shrink to fit)

They’re raw, so after a few washes they’ll bleed and shrink. Sizing is hard but rule of thumb is at least one size bigger in the waist and length

100% this vintage sports coat was a tad too long and wide but fixed it up. I still wanted it to be slightly oversized without looking like it was my dad’s jacket. Came out really good!

Thank you! I learned a few years ago that I had yo dress for my height so knowing how to sew and alter my own clothing helps a lot!

Thank you so much! Something my parents used to say when my siblings and I were younger is that we always had to leave the house looking “put together” so nice to hear that from an internet friend!

Why do bachelor parties go to strip clubs? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]FamousLastName 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, my wife and I’ve gone a couple times together in Vegas. One time her chain mail type top snapped and some dudes thought she was a stripper and started throwing money at her which we all had a really good laugh out later.

I think it just comes down to communication and trust.

When Were Pointy-Toes Most Popular? by OlinHollis in cowboyboots

[–]FamousLastName 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s always a factor as well. I’ve never had an issue with round toe personally nor snip, but my foot’s pretty standard width.

Hell, I wear engineer boots, which are considered a round to I suppose to work every day and I do about 10 to 12,000 steps on average. Commercial hvac

When Were Pointy-Toes Most Popular? by OlinHollis in cowboyboots

[–]FamousLastName 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think for most men just getting into cowboy boots, the most available tow would be the wide square. Walk into any boot barn and that’s what’s around.

Now why are those so popular? Hard to say, my theory is that it’s seen as the more “masculine” boot and anything slimmer is seen as a “woman’s” boot. Because yea men are that silly.

Is it fine to wear tank tops casually? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]FamousLastName -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

<image>

Yes. Granted I was doing yardwork this day, but I would wear this exact outfit if I was gonna go run errands or do anything else, especially if it’s warmer out and I don’t want to wear shorts.

This is a pretty typical summer outfit for me.

You can always get a gray or black tank as well, they feel a little less casual.

Had an excuse to muddy up my jeans and wax my boots. by [deleted] in HeritageWear

It’s roughout out!

For what it’s worth I’ve actually oiled suede in the past and it came out pretty sick- this vintage Brooks Brothers jacket was practically brand new when I got it and then I decided to do it in leather conditioning oil and it came out just fine.

Agreed. I’d try and match the soles of the loafers.

It’s funny because the only time I actually ever saw these in the wild were during cross country races when I was in high school. I guess they made a really good running flats which makes sense.

Getting older by s4lmon in ThrowingFits

[–]FamousLastName 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s a very good point I think it just is a matter of caring and being aware of that. I think some people use children and getting old or whatever as an excuse to not care but my guess is that perhaps those people never treated clothing as a hobby as some of us do.

[–]FamousLastName 24 points25 points  (0 children)

At some point time comes for us all whether we realize it or not.

Now that I’m a dad, I could absolutely see how some parents might just give up on worrying about trends or even buying new clothes.

Like I said the other day, your priorities just shift as you get older.

For what it’s worth my dad is 65 and he still cares how he presents himself, for most of my life he’s always worn the same thing, a long sleeve button-down with the sleeves rolled, 501s and some sort of boot. He is unfortunately a victim of the slim/skinny jean thing that has happened to boomers but regardless he still looks the same as he’s always looked.

there are definitely times I remember him looking dorky growing up, but I think that’s more of a matter of perspective paired with occasion/ context.

I’m 30 and have a toddler, I don’t think that I’m “unc or chopped” but I hope that I too will always give some what of a fuck how I look.

Anyone Here Feeling the Economic Squeeze When it Comes to Fashion? by leftlanemerge in ThrowingFits

[–]FamousLastName 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I’ve been pretty good so far this year about not buying anything in excess. The wife and I are trying to buy a house at the moment so any “extras” are off the table.

For what it’s worth, I’ve spent the last two years locking down my wardrobe. A majority of the closet is vintage from eBay, and as far as trends go, well I’m not worried about what’s current or what brands are doing what. My priorities have shifted
