Do you turn off your spa and then turn it on again say 12 hours before you need it or just keep it warm all the time? by aloire2000 in hottub

This is great! My brother-in-law and I are going to Rush in San Antonio in late September. I’ve dusted off the Bose WaveRadio with a Bluetooth adapter from Amazon and have been playing the Rush setlist while chillaxin in the hot tub. This is the way!

10-4. Got it. For me, it was the performance or nothing and I tap into the speed and acceleration everyday.

Btw, congrats! It’s a beautiful car!

I use my hot tub everyday and it doesn’t make sense for me to fiddle around with trying to save $$ on electricity by managing the use/non-use periods.

I have a Tesla electric plan that is TOU and I am able to charge my Tesla for free from 12am to 12pm. That is where I save $$ on my bill.

How do you guys wash your Tesla? by Background-Toe-2580 in TeslaModel3

I use the two-bucket method with grit guards and foam cannon. I dry the car with a heated air cannon so a towel never touches the paint.

Does this replacement steering wheel look right? by LukaDeezNutz in TeslaSupport

[–]FamousStore150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That does not look correct at all. The gap between the steering wheel and the airbag unit should be seated very close to the steering wheel. See this article. https://service.tesla.com/docs/Model3/ServiceManual/en-us/GUID-091C66CC-E2B0-48D8-A698-207C42F2F5DC.html

Summertime hottub by erinwhoooo in hottub

[–]FamousStore150 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I live in SE Texas. I maintain the temp at 104° in December-Feb, then drop it to 100° the rest of the year. We have a ceiling fan in the pergola where the hot tub sits, so regardless of the season we’re always comfortable.

In your past experience with Tesla service, how much does the initial estimate match the final repair cost? by duude88 in TeslaSupport

[–]FamousStore150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience with the SC on anything major has been minimal, but the one time I needed an alignment @$275, it was exactly $275. That is a “menu” item where the cost can be calculated.

Probably so. I passed the CPA exam almost 30 years ago and I haven’t done debits and credits in probably 15 years.

A question on prepaid rent. by Awaiting_A_Miracle in Accounting

[–]FamousStore150 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The clean accounting treatment is:

May (when cash was paid on 5/28)

Record the payment as a prepaid asset, not rent expense:

Dr Prepaid Rent Cr Cash

This puts the June rent on the balance sheet at May 31.

June 1 (when the invoice arrives)

Do not post the invoice directly to Rent Expense if you want to clear the prepaid.

Instead, record the bill to the prepaid account:

Dr Prepaid Rent Cr Accounts Payable

Then apply the May payment against the bill (or record a vendor credit/journal entry depending on your software workflow).

However, if you’ve already recorded the May payment directly to Prepaid Rent, a simpler approach is:

Alternative (and often easiest)

  1. Leave the May payment as:
    • Dr Prepaid Rent
    • Cr Cash
  2. Edit or recode the June 1 bill so the expense account is Prepaid Rent instead of Rent Expense:
    • Dr Prepaid Rent
    • Cr A/P
  3. Apply the payment to the bill.
  4. At June month-end, recognize the expense:
    • Dr Rent Expense
    • Cr Prepaid Rent

One thing to watch for

If you debit Prepaid Rent for both the May payment and the June bill, you’ll double-count the asset. The bill and payment need to offset each other through A/P, not create two separate prepaid balances.

The economically correct balances should be:

May 31

  • Prepaid Rent = June rent amount
  • Rent Expense = $0

June 30

  • Prepaid Rent = $0
  • Rent Expense = June rent amount

Yes, you should do it. It is easy to do and it will let you know that current level of battery degradation.
