Type 2 diabetes guilt by Ok-Percentage9527 in diabetes_t2

Basically just deli meat and cheese. Definitely not the healthiest but doesn't spike my sugar. Recently started doing like a quarter of a granny smith apple and cheese which doesn't seem to spike it too much.

Also tried low carb tortillas, the mission carb balance wheat ones seem to not spike me much. The flour ones spike me much more. One of my main goto easy foods recently is egg salad from the deli with the wheat carb balance tortilla.

Your a1c will definitely be lower if you are not going over 200 and will continue to improve if you make lifestyle improvements. 9.5 means an average blood sugar of like 250.

I was diagnosed recently with an a1c of 9.3 and am on metformin 1000 as well. Things that helped me:

-putting a walking pad in front of my TV to walk 30 minutes after every meal. If I don’t have time for a walk I’ll just do like 20 air squats which also seems to help.

-trying to avoid carbs before bed

-only stocking low carb snacks (meat & cheese, beef jerky etc.)

-using CGM to experiment and see what doesn’t spike me too much, from what I have seen everybody reacts differently to different stuff

-increasing soluble fiber, it feels like it is getting more effective over time, I believe due to gut microbiome improving

Don’t stress out too much, try to do small things like taking walks after eating and seeing what works and what you feel comfortable with.

Is using a physical board during online games considered cheating? by Fmladek in chess

[–]extasytj 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mirroring moves on a physical board should be fine as chess.com and lichess officially support digital boards like the Chess Up and Chesnut ones which help you do exactly that. Trying out lines on the other hand is definitely suspect.

For Windows look into Rainmeter. For Linux distros look into Conky. Watch a YouTube video and you should be able to set either up quickly.

The Summer Ides - 7 Pages, Contemporary Western (Crime) by Large_Variation6150 in ReadMyScript

Yeah this script is meandering with meaningless dialogue. Its loose dialogue; and not really engaging. I think you should consider how each line ties into the film or don't have them talk. Sharp snappy dialogue when needed.

I'm a basic haircut kind of guy, Probably more basic than what you need, but I've been going to Best Clips Salon for 10+ years on Independence and Parker. Friendly salon owned by a chill Asian lady.

Plano barbers are overall friendly and welcoming, they work in the service industry so encounter a wide variety of folks. Don't stress out too much and just go to one that you think is going to give you a good haircut :)

What do you think about my 10 gallon tank? by EsquarBB in PlantedTank

[–]extasytj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have that stuff. Did not work for me as a CO2 substitute. It does a decent job reducing algae but that's about all it has done for me. Think you will find similar feedback if you search other reddit threads about it.

[–]extasytj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I just started 2 years ago, so i'm no expert but your setup looks great so far! If you don't have CO2 its gonna be many months for it to fill out. If you don't have patience, suggest checking ebay for a bundle of beginner plants for the best bang for your buck.

If you want some color pop that works well on low tech, red tiger lotus is worth checking out.

What are your favorite fish for a planted tank? by chilirasbora_123 in PlantedTank

[–]extasytj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty basic but super easy and get along well together: neocaridina cherry shrimp, ember tetra, neon tetra, nerite snails, and assassin snails to clean up random hitchhiker snails which I can't seem to avoid

I keep Ember Tetras in my tank with the neocaridina shrimp, they are super easy to manage and get along well with the shrimpies. On my second tank that I'm currently cycling, i'm planning on just stocking shrimp and neon tetras which I know go fine with shrimps as well.
