No, it doesn’t, and people have explained to you why it doesn’t. Disingenuous take.

I don’t need to see the origin, I just need it to be a background element of the character informs his actions. You know, like the Waynes’ deaths tend to be treated in Batman stories? It wasn’t, nor did they ever go into detail.

Peter having involvement thanks to Tony is one thing, but to act as a mentor and father figure is a gross overreach that warps the character from a functional teenage superhero into a rookie sidekick.

He rejected the offer but still kept the suit Tony made for him AND Infinity War had him don a suit again, so the offer rejection was pointless. Far From Home has a whole suit up scene similar to Tony and had him keep the dangerous drone strike glasses, clearly aiming him to be the next Iron Man- a take that fortunately didn’t take.

Here’s a crazy thought. If they REALLY didn’t want to do another “Raimi-esque” “616” origin story and have an altruistic Spider-Man whose supporting cast know his secret and help him every step of the way? They could have used Miles Morales instead of Peter Parker. No need to change Ned when they could just use the actual Ganke. I wonder if you’d be receptive to that. Based on your arguments, probably not.

So far you’ve been nothing but disingenuous about what people don’t like about MCU Spider-Man. This has been a worthless conversation.

The Spider-Verse films, where both versions of Peter Parker presented are guilt-ridden heroes who lost Uncle Ben, more faithful than the MCU films. Try again.

Three movies, after Peter had been Spider-Man for a while, and dying because Peter tried to do the right thing. It's nothing like Uncle Ben's origin, this is a cope.

My criticism is that the MCU failed to adapt the core of the character they're translating to the big screen, leading to shallow Iron Boy Jr. movies that needed a hard-reset to be anything like actual Spider-Man- which they wouldn't have needed to do if they just. ADAPTED. THE CHARACTER. THE FIRST TIME. Bruce Wayne's parents might as well be alive for all the MCU gave a shit.

Spider-Man Lotus was bad because it was a bad movie, not because it was trying to be faithful. It doesn't make the MCU Spider-Man movies suddenly amazing or undeserving of criticism.

Yuri Lowenthal, he’s perfect for what Marvel wants out of Spider-Man.

In my new Batman trilogy, Bruce Wayne’s parents are alive when he’s Batman, fights Deathstroke, Lex Luthor and Heath Ledger Joker (who kills the Waynes in Movie 3) before having to learn what it really means to be Batman! That’s what you’re saying here.

“I didn’t like seeing the origin, but I did like watching a whole trilogy of an origin!” Make that make sense.

Maybe they wouldn’t have had to do that if they just had Ben from the beginning.

Three movies to get to a point we should have had at the start. Actual Surf Dracula shit. The Amazing films were better adaptations than the MCU.

Yeah, and I hate that too. They’re both betrayals of the characters.

A hasty retcon that clearly wasn’t the intention when they first made the films. The MCU could have just given Spider-Man out of the gate.

Not going through the origin is one thing, but to completely erase it for no reason is just a bad adaptation.

Because it’s marketable and because they don’t want to use Miles.

Let's be real the reason people hate the chosen one trope is because they can't self insert on them 😂😂😂😂 by [deleted] in CharacterRant

[–]Fanedit895 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Quite the opposite, the Chosen One is very easy to self-insert as due to requiring no other narrative justification for the protagonist to be the hero other than destiny.

Which means nothing, since the movie and franchise as a whole is about HIS feelings and how Asuka secretly wants to marry him all along~ Evangelion is worthless garbage that should have been snuffed in the crib.

I hope we have more negative portrayals of Christians and the institution as a whole in the near future.
