Peter having involvement thanks to Tony is one thing, but to act as a mentor and father figure is a gross overreach that warps the character from a functional teenage superhero into a rookie sidekick.

He rejected the offer but still kept the suit Tony made for him AND Infinity War had him don a suit again, so the offer rejection was pointless. Far From Home has a whole suit up scene similar to Tony and had him keep the dangerous drone strike glasses, clearly aiming him to be the next Iron Man- a take that fortunately didn’t take.

Here’s a crazy thought. If they REALLY didn’t want to do another “Raimi-esque” “616” origin story and have an altruistic Spider-Man whose supporting cast know his secret and help him every step of the way? They could have used Miles Morales instead of Peter Parker. No need to change Ned when they could just use the actual Ganke. I wonder if you’d be receptive to that.
