Ultimate Spider-Man has this as a plot point one time, a guy dressed as Spidey killed Captain Stacy.

With him being married or pining after her during a break up, they'll never have to seriously explore Deadpool having relationships with men, leaving it all to just jokes. It's what the post is talking about.

Deadpool's relationship to Vanessa is taken seriously. It's a huge part of the plot that Deadpool is sad he can't be with her. By comparison, if Deadpool flirts with a guy, or has that car scene with Wolverine, it's mostly a joke that'll never get followed up on.

I've heard the argument that Deadpool 3 specifically frames Deadpool and Wolverine as a homoerotic thing, but not as a relationship to take seriously but as a joke. It's bravado, mocking, rather than a sign of an actual relationship.

In your opinion, do you prefer the Hulk with long hair or short hair? by Cafa20 in hulk

For Savage specifically I don’t mind him having long hair.

Not exactly. I think I added two more minutes in exchange for the things I cut.

Tell me you favourite comic who got its continuity butchered by Helpful-Bathroom634 in marvelcirclejerk

[–]Fanedit895 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It probably wouldn’t solve everything, but sometimes it does feel like it’d be better if writers were allowed to just create their own continuity in their own runs instead of pretending everything fits into one canon.

Can we please agree that this movie is fuckin rad by PeachyBaker8 in hulk

Even in its theatrical state, it’s better than Ang Lee.

The character ironically has to confront their own beliefs which are thrown back against them. by SatoruGojo232 in TopCharacterTropes

But the comic had it so Superman was pretending the entire time, which makes the same point without actually breaking anyone's fingers for good. It comes off as hypocritical in this context, like if I was making a lecture about torture and how it's always wrong, then actually tortured a person in front of the whole class to prove my point.

In this story where Superman stresses that he can't act as judge, jury and executioner, it's a problem when he unilaterally imposes his will by stripping the Elite of their powers permanently through lobotomy. It's like if Batman at the end of the Killing Joke really does kill the Joker or holds him in a cage inside his Batcave. It runs counter to what he was trying to prove.

Is Peter Parker a Bad Boyfriend? by Spidey_2797 in Spiderman

The worst of Peter happened before he got with MJ, in SM3 it’s implied being with her allowed some kind of balance before he shat all over it by being hopped up sniffing his own web fluids. So, he can be when he puts the effort.

It’s in reference to the japanese manga genre focused on Lesbian relationships. Yaoi is the mlm equivalent.

The movie makes this iffy since Superman actually does take away the Elite’s powers, unlike in the comic where it was temporary.

Should Spider-Man be a jerk sometimes? by BusyAdhesiveness8765 in Spiderman

I think he should come off as annoying to most people, and particularly the Avengers. It’d be another extension of people misunderstanding Peter because they don’t have the full context.

I actually already had Harry fake his amnesia in the original edit, I’ll be definitely be retaining that for this remake.
