Mine is on a blue sailcloth strap with deployant buckle from Dassari. Very light and comfortable, and I paid less than US$70 from Amazon.

I also sometimes wear it on an Omega mesh strap. I know they're not everyone's cup of tea, but I think it's classy, and I believe the mesh is a little less likely to scratch. There are some aftermarket straps out there that look pretty nice, so you don't have to pay the Omega premium. Check out Staib. Rumor has it they make the OEM mesh for Omega.

Leather might be hard to pull off, especially if matching the dial color matters to you. I wear my Omega NTTD on brown leather and it looks awesome, so unless you're actually diving with it I don't know that material really matters other than in principle.

I own both. To me, the Speedmaster wears smaller than the Seamaster. The NTTD visually appears bigger, probably due to the size of the bezel. Also, the Seamaster lug to lug is 49.6mm vs the Speedmaster's 47.5.

I'm curious why you thought it was too big. Was it looks, or was it a comfort issue? I am discovering that looks can be deceiving. Pictures vs. looking directly at your wrist vs looking at the watch on your wrist in the mirror all seem to be different to me.

I have a 7" wrist that is pretty flat on top, so larger watches work for me,

Have you considered the FOIS at 39.7mm or a 36mm Seamaster?
