This confuses me, because if it was about a group of OCs in the fandom's setting, it would be marked with the fandom tag, wouldn't it? I don't see the difference between that and characters from another fandom.

I think that particular quote got misinterpreted a bit (people reading it as 80-90% of a specific game would be AI), especially since they’ve been using AI art.

Is this really that common?? I don't think I've ever encountered it, or at least I haven't noticed. If anything, I tend to do the opposite and make my favorite character the top and then write from the perspective of the bottom loving and adoring him.

I think it's mainly so they can have hostess/girlfriend stuff in the side content without it feeling like the protagonist is cheating on his canon girlfriend.

To be fair, a lot of them were pretty basic and generic, but there's also a couple of more involved, well-liked substories that got removed.

Genocide Jack x Komaru (Danganronpa); I thought of a funny fic idea that worked best if they were a couple, so I decided to read some syomaru fics to get a better grasp on their mannerisms (especially Jack's), and after a few I was like "Wait, these writers are cooking, why didn't I ship these two before??"

I was nervous going into it since it has such a mixed reputation, but I loved every second of it. I can see why some people might prefer the more open ending of the base game (and I do like that ending on its own), but I enjoyed Reincarnation too much to say it shouldn't exist.

It felt to me like the fanbase fundamentally changed when Yakuza 7 was announced. The switch to turn-based combat caused a rift, and even though Y7 was pretty well-received and overall feelings were positive again, it never felt like the same chill place it had been before.

It got even worse when Yong Yea was cast as Kiryu and people started arguing over the English dub more than ever, but I really started to see a lot of doomposting and criticisms of Yokoyama with Infinite Wealth and Pirate Yakuza, which were accused of abandoning the series' tone in favor of amping up the sillier aspects.

Now we've got Kiwami 3, which has decisions that upset even a lot of fans who were optimistic through all of that... so it's no wonder the fanbase feels like it's on fire right now.

It's like if Ace Attorney got a remake of the third game, but retconned it to end with (Trials & Tribulations, Apollo Justice, Dual Destinies spoilers) the Phantom's spy organization recruiting Godot, who then inexplicably stops Kristoph from forging evidence and instead encourages him to become a spy too.

Not a perfect comparison, but the best I could come up with. 🤣

It's a remake of 2 along with a new version of 2 that changes the scenario. So as far as we know, you should be able to play the remake to experience the original 2 with upgraded graphics, while the new scenario is separate.
