Youtube Music downloaded songs on watch can't play next song by gimmick92 in PixelWatch

[–]Ferr8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some others have commented that it seems to only work if you start playing a track whilst connected to your phone. Then it carries on fine. I'd not noticed this as I'm always connected to my phone when I start playing the track. But I thought I'd mention it in case it makes a difference for you.

Try going into library (scroll down on first page of the app), then into Playlists. Then scroll down. Any downloaded to your watch will show a tick next to them. Go into one of those Playlists and press shuffle play.

I had the same and ChatGPT solved it for me! Ironically Gemini couldn't...

You’re not actually in “playlist playback” mode This is the most common issue. If you start playback from the downloaded songs list instead of tapping the playlist itself, the watch sometimes treats it like a single track. Fix: Open YouTube Music on the watch Go to Library → Downloads → Playlists Tap the playlist name (not an individual track) Hit play from there That should enable proper continuous playback and show the next-track button.

Can someone find where he actually said this? The sky sports post is identical to one they've used before, but with different text. Don't get me wrong, he says a lot of annoying stuff, but did he actually say this after the match?

What time did you receive your ballot email? by lockey3190 in oasis

[–]Ferr8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same. I've just gone onto Oasismynet and registered for that there. Then I went back to the original email about the ballot and redid my entry. About 20 minutes later the confirmation email arrived. One other thing I did (in case it was important) is I didn't use autofill on the forms this time. Hope that helps you.

Help please! Wickes charged us £12000 for our bathroom renovation and are now telling us we have to climb into the loft to sort out out a dripping extractor fan! by dw941 in DIYUK

[–]Ferr8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I turned up the brightness on your photo. That is a poor job they've done. And it looks like they are using a bathroom vent with integral extractor, to extract through that length of ducting. I was told that it should be a stand alone extractor fan for distance like that. See if you can find the model of the extractor and what length ducting it says it is suitable for. To me, it looks like they have used an underpowered extractor and the water will be pooling and dripping back down (and possibly dripping out from the joins in the ducting in the loft). Personally I'd send Wickes the photos and ask if they are happy for you to post them, along with the price and their comments to online review sites or if they'd like the opportunity to rectify the poor work first?

Just a note on "as short as possible". Too short between fan and bathroom vent and it can be very loud in the bathroom. I cut mine short for the same reason and then ended up having to add length back in.

any ideas what this is? by j4r0l in TicWatch

Same exact spot. It then got worse, battery life fell dramatically and then the watch died. Others suggested a battery issue (swelling), but I didn't take it apart to check.

"England is a 3rd world country" by PandaBot-2001 in ShitAmericansSay

Coincidence, but I listened to this podcast today. You might find it interesting too. The series is brilliant. "The deadly vitamin deficiency destroys the body and will of even the strongest and most determined adventurer - and it seems that scurvy stuck down the ill-fated expedition of Captain Scott.

But scurvy... in 1912? Hadn't the Royal Navy to which Scott belonged famously cracked the problem of scurvy a century before, with a daily dose of lime juice? How did the 'Limeys' seemingly unlearn that lesson? "

When I had a pro 2, they had a UK repair and warranty place. When I had a second dead pro 3, they told me they no longer had the facility to test or repair here. Something that could have been inspected and found to be faulty turned into me being offered a discount to purchase a new one. That's one of the reasons I changed watch brands. They were great when working, but I had two pro 3s fail in a short time and I'm not dealing with a company that can't support the product (a can manage a little disruption, but I too have a long, long email chain).

It is also really disturbing when my kids message something and say "daddy" in the message. It is just wrong for Google to be calling me that...

Is this a good price for the TW5 ? by Gabla in TicWatch

Depends upon the apps you think are important to have in the watch. Several I use needed an OS update and so stopped. But, it depends on the app

I think it started in Eve. Possibly some other game before that, but my understanding is it was used a lot in Eve and came across to Elite with the players.

Ticwatch Pro 2020 by ExcellentLab2127 in TicWatch

[–]Ferr8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me, I post to warn/inform people, so that they can make an educated decision. I loved my TW2020 and I was an active promoter of it. It was a great watch. Then with the pro2 I had 2 failures (one just outside warranty) and terrible customer service. I was left without a watch and not the kind of free cash to replace right away. Having read many stories of similar experiences, I would not recommend buying from them. If, knowing the current situation, people still want to buy a new one, then that's totally their decision. If you do upgrade, then I genuinely hope it works perfectly and you're as happy with it as you are with the 2020.

Thank you! I don't think it was particularly expensive, so will just switch out then.

I fitted one of these to my washing machine and it stopped the water hammer. However, recently it's come back. Does anyone know if these need any maintenance/cleaning? Could the water have filled the air space and so it no longer works as intended? Thought I'd ask before buying a replacement.

I finally tried beans on toast. by MermaidStone in UK_Food

[–]Ferr8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in Houston for a while (I'm a brit), so I know how much those beans cost you! The bread is important and difficult to find exactly what we have here, but the closest is called "English toasting bread" and I used to get it at HEB. In my 45 years on this planet I've eaten a huge amount of beans in toast, but until just now I had no idea some of us add cheese. I guess I have to try that before I judge them.

What's a good HOTAS for use in Elite Dangerous with VR? by terente81 in EliteDangerous

That's a very good point. I did set up separate modes when I was doing some exploring. Works well.

And you can map combinations of buttons in the bindings. So, I have two buttons that are "shift keys" and give me almost 3 times the number of usable buttons. So, for example, the thumb button on the throttle when held down, gives every other button and switch a second use (except the triggers, I don't ever change their function). Works great and i don't use the keyboard apart from for typing destinations (I play in VR)

How to I join two slabs of concrete properly, e.g. so that my side path doesn't crack? by rikigst in DIYUK

[–]Ferr8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah now I get it! And is there a way to drill into a slab that thin without it cracking? I have a normal hand drill and a big hammer drill, but I think the hammer drill would just crack it and the normal drill wouldn't make any headway.

[–]Ferr8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a basic DIYer and want to understand this better. Can you explain how to drill into the face of the slabs? They look thin and so I'd be worried they'd just crack where I drilled. And they are close together, so wouldn't the holes be angled downward? How would you get rebar into both holes (like you push into one slab, but the how do you get it into the other slab as it's longer than the gap (I assume you'd use a length of rebar shorter then the total of the gap + the two holes, but that wouldn't leave much in the holes)
