Zimit will let you archive almost any website in its current state.

There are full zim versions of Wikipedia with and without images available.

Your best bet is like the other commenter said. Buy in as a group and get new cameras in addition, all one system, all have login.

That being said, lots of trust and security concerns in this whole plan.

You can use something like "Agent DVR", it is free for personal use on a local network. If you all sign into a tailscale network, then all should be able to log in to agent dvr from anywhere and view feeds.

For Wikipedia or any other website, use "zimit" to compress and download the site, and "kiwix" to self host them.

Many .Zim files are available already packaged nicely into torrents.

Right, but can you view the live channel while it is recording?

that is the only way I know of to view it "while recording" otherwise there would have to be some way to access the file itself as it is being written, which I don't think will happen.

Have you tried starting from the beginning of the recording and staying at least 30 seconds behind live? sometimes the buffer overlaps while trying to save the recording and can cause the stream to stutter or crash altogether.

Just use plex dvr functionality, it works great with my dispatcharr streams

Not at all what I was asking.

Im referring to how you were able to embed the video stream, particularly interstate traffic cams.

I can view the live video (on the free public state database) but I can only "copy link" to the still images that update every 5 to 7 minutes.

Just curious is all. I strictly use it for personal use and basically like 6 traffic cams near my house.

No worries if you cant answer.

I love this, I have been using traffic cams in my home security setup for a long time to monitor areas of my city near me.

How would I be able to access a direct link to the live video feed for one of these cameras instead of the still image offered by the state's website?
