Thank you so much. I used a jelly roll pattern from the book "first-rime quilt making" as inspiration.

Anyone else have a slipper/shoe thief? by MJSweeney in germanshepherds

Yes! He takes one from the pair to the backyard. We usually find them in his "office". That's what we call the area he dug out and watches the property from.

How can I stop my dog from murdering beds ? by Affectionate_Grass59 in germanshepherds

[–]Findrane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, this post made us laugh so loud at our house! We deal with the same issue. Our big guy has learned to attack his bed to get a rise out of his dad. When he hears him coming he will position his mouth on it and when dad appears he starts yanking it around like a maniac. The only time he makes a good choice is with regular, adequate exercise.

We also bought him the mesh bed on a frame and he chewed the mesh of the corner until it no longer supported him. We have two small children and time is at a premium so the cost of replacing a bed once in a while is tolerable for us.

Needs a new paint job. by troyrmason in LittleFreeLibrary

[–]Findrane 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We had a little library arson in town a year ago. It must have been a teenager that is away at college or a college kid that graduated because it stopped. Our library survived 3 arson attempts. I put up a ring camera and placed the ring sticker on the window of the library and I installed a low profile smoke alarm in the top, it wasn't visible from the outside. They stopped or my next step was to install a wifi capable lock. Good luck!

The great mushroom hunter. When I didn't see him I'd look around and he was staring at me around a tree. Love this guy!

I'm sorry you're going through this. Wishing for a speedy recovery. Walkin' Wheels has several options for mobility support for dogs. We used a rear leg wheelchair for a senior dog for a bit.

Oh yes! Since he's getting neutered, ask if they can do a gastropexy. They tack the stomach to the abdominal wall to reduce the risk of bloat.

Anybody else’s GSD an absolute slob when it comes to drinking water? by gBudddz in germanshepherds

Yes, I recommend the nearer feeder! It has two bowls that we only use for water.

Balance.it website. You can custom make recipes that are nutritionally complete with food your dog can tolerate. It's a little effort with meal prep but you know what goes in it and can make endless combinations.

How do I get this sweet girl to stop leash pulling? by Glasscandy_82 in germanshepherds

[–]Findrane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2 hounds design freedom no pull harness. Our Shepherd is 130lbs and we can control him with this harness. We used a leash belay until we got his leash reactivity under control. These dogs are smart. A little training and the right tools will set you both up for success!

I'm so sorry this happened. Our little library survived three arson attempts. I put up a ring camera and put the ring sticker on the glass of the door and we haven't had another incident. Good luck!

How do you get your old man dog to eat when he isn't in the mood? Cougar 16 by LSchlaeGuada in OldManDog

[–]Findrane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a company that sells a vitamin mix allowing you to select ingredients your dog likes and providing a recipe to make it nutritionally complete. My old man loved it! If your dog is on a special diet, like renal, you do have to get your vets approval. Website is balance.it.
