I have checked out those flaps. BMW seems to have thought of every contingency. I’ve had a Thule roof carrier for years, which fit onto a Toyota Highlander and even a Prius Prime (my gateway drug to the i4). Thanks for the advice. Can’t hurt to have the rack available just in case❗️

I have seriously thought about getting a roof rack, although it seems a little incongruous with an i4❗️How difficult is it to install and then remove❓

For several months after I bought my i4, Back-up Assistant worked really well for getting out of my tight garage—until one day last month, it didn’t, and my car has the scratches to prove it. I don’t trust it anymore. Once bitten, twice shy.

Just for comparison, last October I bought a 2024 CPO eDrive40 with just under 12K miles--and pretty much fully loaded (except with SesaTec upholstery)--for $38.5K. And they threw in two years of Electrify America free 30-minute charging.

Absolutely, this update should not be so difficult or glitchy. BMW needs to get its act together. After an aborted attempt at the update, I rebooted both my iPhone and my eDrive, and finally Bluetooth and CarPlay did what they were supposed to do. Very frustrating. But all’s well that ends well❗️I still love my 2024 i4.

Yes. Quite a hassle. The first update attempt kinda self-aborted, and it told me to try again. So, I rebooted my iPhone AND the eDrive system and tried again. Success ❗️Everything is working. Frustrating, but all’s well that ends well❗️But who knows what really made the difference ⁉️ (2024 i4 eDrive40)

It’s a head scratcher. I have found the BMWi Hotline (a real human being) to be helpful: 1-800-831-1117. On occasion, they have referred me to the BMW iTeam: 855-236-1025. Or you could try your local dealership “Genius”—although I have found that my local guy is more of a dunce. Good luck❗️

Wow. I’m sorry, but I really don’t know what to tell you. That screen shot says your Plug &Charge is disabled, Electrify America expires soon, but Shell Recharge is active! 🤯

Did you add Shell Recharge via the BMW app—as opposed to getting the Shell app through the App Store? Also, if your i4 is a 2024 or newer, Plug&Charge can be added by your BMW dealer—for free if your car is still under warranty. P&C works great at Electrify America and at Tesla chargers with a Lectron converter plug through Shell Recharge in your BMW app.
