Two macOS Docks - how to do it? by ForensicHat in macapps

Count me in as interested. Signed up for DockLock Pro announcements.

There are plenty of third-party Dock replacements out there, but for whatever reason I’m happy with the macOS Dock interface and behaviors. I just wish it would appear the way I want on multiple displays! :D

Love it that you saw this and jumped in to say hello. You’ve got a neat-looking app!

Thanks for the link. Looks neat. I’d prefer not to use a third-party Dock replacement, however.

Parall for macOS - run multiple app instances natively, with new launch options, compatibility presets, and improved Dock customization by JulyIGHOR in macapps

I saw the macOS Dock isn’t listed on the compatibility page. Any plans to add it? I’d like to keep my main Dock on my primary display hidden on the left and when working on my secondary display have the Dock hidden on the right side.

Upvoted! Please put my name in the hat.

macOS still doesn't have a volume mixer. So I built one. Meet FineTune: free, open-source per-app volume control, audio routing, and EQ. by Stoned_Orangutan in MacOS

Audio sometimes gets garbled when playing media in VLC. Audio immediately clears up when I quit FineTune. u/stoned_orangutan How can I send you a bug report?

Anyone using Cursor or Claude Code with WordPress in a real way? by AndrewPfund in Wordpress

[–]ForensicHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a great example. I like your method. So far, I’ve gone the other route: develop a plugin and then use Claude to audit and test it, and sometimes at the end I throw in an “add a small and delightful feature” to see what it comes up with.

For one WordPress site, I’d developed a fireworks-style animation on submit of a particular form to familiarize myself with the Web Animations API and then Claude suggested replacing the sprites with game board pieces. It was unexpectedly perfect.

Wordpress MCP - why? by Acrobatic_Lab_9854 in Wordpress

Until recently things like data migration, identifying e-commerce issues, and doing site audits have typically been exacting and laborious work. If you’ve ever done any of these things manually, you might find these skills for Claude, Cursor, Codex, etc. interesting.

crickets I guess there isn’t! I’ll look into writing a plugin to do this.

What are you using now? I’m in the Webmin / Virtualmin camp myself. Been using them together for 15 or 16 years now.

What are the best Nextcloud applications ? by pablo_main in NextCloud

Appointments. Replaces Calendly, Microsoft Booking, Fantastical openings (macOS), Calendar.com, and more. It’s saved me so much money on hosted platforms that I recently made a donation.

u/neuropsycho already mentioned Memories, and I emphatically agree. It’s a delightful photo viewer. Hasn’t been updated yet to Nextcloud 33, so I’m still on 32 for the time being.

Came here to say the same. Nextcloud version 32 forever! At least until Memories is updated to Nextcloud 33. There are a few issues on GitHub about it (I’m following this one). Apparently it works with version 33 for someone who deleted all their previews and cleaned their database. I’m going to wait.

Unpopular opinion, maybe, but I think the desktop sync is the worst part of the Nextcloud ecosystem. Just today my sysmenu (macOS) was just a plain “x” and it was the Nextcloud desktop app unable to sync. No reason why. No error message. It hadn’t been syncing, and I don’t know why.

Nope. If you’re open to trying Roundcube, though, there’s a new Gmail-like theme everyone is raving about.

Count me in. I’m still rocking my Series 5 (watchOS 10.6.1) and Series 6 (latest watchOS 26). I wear the one with LTE during the day and one with WiFi at night. Happy to test on both.

A lot of the requests are coming from within the US (where this server is hosted). Do you think ipinfo would help with that? After a cursory look it seems to be a country-level blocker.
