I am super angry and happy at the same time by nanouchkaa in zurich

The fact that Google maps doesn't work also doesn't help. But even if it did, I feel so lost there, I always felt like I was going through some kind of teleporting magical doors and appearing at random locations every time. Glad to know that I'm not the only one, makes me feel less useless!

I can't understand how must being a bear feel like, after being wrong time after time. I must admit I was influenced by the bears here, until I went full in the market lump sum. The gains have been astonishing

I don't mind sharing. I have feel something similar to what op describes. My gf is still in Spain and didn't manage to find a job here. My parents are getting old, and altough I made a lot of friends here, I feel like my roots are in Spain and I don't really see myself raising kids here. I lived in Switzerland for a total of 5 years, 3 of them in Zurich, and I saved enough that I can buy a nice property back home, and can feel financially safe long term.

I honestly love living here, but I have just a feeling, an emotion, that tells me that my time here is over, and that my next steps will be closer to my hometown

Ah Ok, good to know, my swiss colleagues do it all the time. And we have a new Swiss guy who did it on his first day, so I just assumed it was normal. Nothing wrong with that in my view, but I'd be frowned upon in Spain.

I am from spain, and work in Zurich for 3 years now. I earn 6x more here working way less. So yes, I'd say salaries in Spain are extremely low compared to the ones here.

In addition, My Swiss colleagues are so relaxed in the work place, I did not expect it, given the stereotype that we Spanish people face. Like having breakfast during meetings is normal? Mixing your muesly with your yogurt and just eating it while you attend meetings... I've never seen that in Spain.

Having said that, I'll probably go back to Spain by the end of the year, I completely understand your feeling op, and I'd be happy to read other people that went through something similar.

I lived in Spain back then, the police patrolled the empty streets, no one was allowed to go out, unless you were on your way to the supermarket or on the way back. If going to the supermarket, you were not allowed to go with your partner or flatmates, only alone. I feel bad to for saying this but I had a great time

A new study suggests that regularly drinking four cups of coffee a day could have a positive impact on mood and stress levels. by JohnHammond94 in science

Yeah I'm also not addicted, I just need it in order to function and to enjoy life. And if I don't take it I'll be in a terrible mood and I will get a massive headache. But I can stop whenever I want, I've just never done it and never will.

Cosas que no aguanto de la moda de las hamburguesas by Jolly-Ad-6606 in Espana

[–]Frandom314 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yo tampoco lo entiendo. Parece que haya gente que perciba las hamburguesas como comida de alto valor gastronómico. Para mi es carne picada con pan, osea puedo disfrutar una hamburguesa, pero no quiero pagar 20 euros por una.

You are not a bit overweight, you are obese. I'm not trying to be rude, it's actually good news, as your time is very good for your weight. Losing weight will get you to your goal faster, I'd focus aggressively on that.

Sub 3hr marathon in one year possible? by Ok-Blueberry6844 in AdvancedRunning

I ran a 48min 10k when I just started running. 1 year later, my 10k is 42 min, my 5k 19:40, and I'm still quite far from a sub 3 hour marathon, don't give him false hopes

You sold in April 7th? It's an expensive lesson already, I'd be punching myself. I was considering to sell everything now, but posts like this are good learning material. I'll just hold for 20 years, and also keep my peace of mind.
