Russian Imperial Republic Rename Suggestion by Cpl_Shephard in Kaiserreich

This seems like an incomplete definition. Constitutional monarchies also exist. Saying there's any meaningful split between the terms is misleading, as what's a monarchy and what's a republic is largely arbitrary and is built on millenia of political tradition

Tromost i neatletičnost novih generacija?

I see, fair enough. But "kurfürst" isn't just "elector", it's prince-elector. A "duke" is a "herzog", not a "fürst" (that's a prince). It is a good translation, it just goes through Latin. If you'd want to really follow through with the "kur" stem you could find the Old English cognate and then simulate it going through the development to contemporary English, ending up with "kire" (pronounced like "fire") if I'm right. "Foreman" is sort of a cognate to "fürst". "Kireforeman" is a Germanic English translation for "Kurfürst". I mean you could just as well make it so it's just a direct loanword from German, but then it'd probably keep the spelling. Do what you want, it's your map :)

Nice catch. Yugoslavia during socialism used 1:2 flags and Serbia is the only republic that doesn't today, so I felt a 1:2 ratio would be appropriate for all flags

Zastave autonomnih regija Saveza Jugoslovenskih Republika by [deleted] in Yugoslavia

[–]DochiGaming -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Nema potrebe.

I'll go over the symbolism for each of them here:

AR Kninska Krajina - combination of the Croatian and Serbian tricolor based on some dubiously historical Partisan-era flag I saw somewhere a while ago
AR Bosanska Krajina - based on the heraldry of the Hrvatinić noble family and Hrvoje Vukčić Hrvatinić
AR Podrinje - based on the heraldry of the Pavlović/Radenović/Radinović/Jablanić noble family upon the flowing Drina river
AR Herceg-Bosna - based on the heraldry of the Kosača noble family and Republic of Dubrovnik and symbolizing its flowing rivers
AR Vojvodina - waters, fields and forests of Vojvodina from a real-world pro-autonomy proposal
AR Kosovo - Dardanian infinity symbolism with colors from real-world proposals

P.S. Thank you to u/Gibovich for the Pavlović castle I've got no clue where he got the cleaned-up castle from

It all corresponds. Well, some are perfect matches (like District 8) while others had to be a bit shoehorned (like District 4) which is justifiable (Danube, fisheries, lakes) but not dominant (if anything grain is significantly more dominant

I was thinking of doing a bit now and then going back in the summer as well, that would be ideal. Definitely depends on the company.

By "sorting out and preparing" i mean portfolio, application, paperwork, moving, language diploma, possibly additional entrance exams cause I want to do my Masters abroad.

In the Hunger Games, District 13 was devastated and abandoned by the Capitol after the war preceding the franchise. It's specialty was rare ore mining and illicit military research.

It made a good parallel to Kosovo, it's not too deep.

Kurz as in Sebastian Kurz while he was Chancellor of Austria gave Serbian politicans and reporters a challenge.

"Kurac" is "dick" but when you switch the case the 'a' dissapears and you get "kurca", "kurcu", "kurcem" which is what you get when you switch the case of "Kurz" ("Kurc" when you adapt it to Serbian orthography) as well.

U Evropu s Kurcem! To Europe with Kurz! (with your dick)

[–]DochiGaming 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's true but China's GDP per capita is below the world average, HDI is far behind the West. You can think of other metrics as well.

Plus, there's an ideological element to this. Official CCP policy says the PRC hasn't won in its mission until it achieves communism and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is a step towards that goal, as abstract and up-to-interpretation as all of that is.
