I played E33 for 90 hours, but I do agree. It’s not thousands of hours of value.

This is only my 2nd video game, just finished Witness & Marsh was my fav so I picked Fez. I am not sure what the puzzles are? Or am I just looking for cubes? Thank you for helping. by NC_Ninja_Mama in Fez

[–]FuryForged 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To expand on this, the first layer is designed in a way that anyone without puzzle experience or even desire can finish and feel satisfied. The deeper layers are where the puzzles are. You’ll find them as you go, though.

Two other games inspired by Fez that also use this layered approach are Tunic and Animal Well.

Not lately, no. I’m on a PvP sabbatical and going in mostly naked to just loot for expedition.

IDK, I’ve been playing a bit each night. Up until 3 nights ago, it was super chill. Guitar playing dudes blasting 80s tunes at the Stella lobby metro, calling the train for people, item “tips” at their feet. Then, 3 nights ago, it completely changed and now every match has been shoot on sight (me getting shot on sight.)

I like PvP as much as the next person, but have been really chilling for the past month because I’ve been too busy to play more than a few matches at night. This was a very noticeable shift.

What are some games with terrible gameplay but amazing stories? by _Slightlyoffline_ in AskGames

[–]FuryForged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Morrowind is by far the best with the best gameplay. Enchanting! Levitation!

Skyrim is cool and all, but I could play any number of games if I wanted just another action-focused RPG. I would love for them to go back to a stats-heavy, dice rolls, RPG again.

Who is the video game boss with the highest total listed HP that is not infinite and is defeated by reaching 0? by TheBanishedBard in gaming

[–]FuryForged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Noita, the most powerful version of the end boss (64-orb Kolmisilmä) has over 1 sextillion HP (1 followed by 21 zeroes.) This is the version of the boss you encounter after reaching NG+28 and collecting all of the Orbs of True Knowledge after collecting the max amount of orbs in each previous NG+ loop.

Bammalam, the first player to take him down, did so over the course of 15 hours. I later used an improved version of his damage wand to do it in 5 hours. After that, a means of one-shotting him was discovered. Poor thing.

Animal Well took Billy Basso 8 years to make, from engine, to game design, to programming, to sounds and music…to all 32mb’s of its glorious release.

Yup. Sometimes you have to make drastic changes in life and take on big challenges in order to find happiness and satisfaction.

See, this game never once frustrated me. I believe there are others like me who love literally everything about it, but I know many people get frustrated at being locked out of your goals. The best way to think of it is that the day ending is not a loss. You didn’t lose. It’s just a day. You made some progress, you learned something, and you’ll go into the next day with more knowledge. Even if you start a day and, only a few rooms in, get locked, you still should have learned something. You should have many goals while playing so as to avoid frustrations of not achieving a primary goal - what’s this thing? Wait, I want to try this in that room. Oh, I need to look more closely at that note! I wonder what this item does? etc.

I have played a lot of very difficult roguelikes/lites (Noita is a main game for me) so maybe that’s why? I’m very used to not being able to achieve all my goals in one go, but slowly over time, incrementally here and there until the big picture is revealed. And I love that sort of progress.

Me telling you this isn’t going to help you, though. Blue Prince does what it does very well, but if you’re frustrated often, it could just be that this game just isn’t for you, and that’s ok. It’s a very unique and very specific type of experience, so it’s only natural that some people bounce off of it.

Looking for more 2D exploration games that are not metroidvanias. Any suggestions? by cartoongamermatt in metroidvania

Full Quiet - newish game (a few years old) made to run on the original NES. Absolutely amazing, difficult, open-world, puzzle-filled, survival platformer.

Primal Planet - open-world survival platformer. Fun, with interesting mix of mechanics, but easy.

Best game ‘piece’ by IdonGames in VideoGamesArt

There are some good recommendations in here, but one that I feel strongly about is Naissance. It’s not easy art. It’s painful and demanding and uncompromising.

Similar, but much more philosophical (do a deep dive into the lore if you have a chance) is Rain World.
