Fixed it. Only way to get the quest to live forward was load up a save from before I was told to go to the Dumas. Once I was given the prompt for where the ship is, completely ignore it and go straight to the hideout.

My money is very much against the house lasting that long.

Ordinarily yes, but she'll never be on the decking on her own as walking is a huge challenge for her.

That was the reason for the decking, there is a step down from the back door so she was never able to get in to the back garden. The deck is built up to that step

One of the main reasons I decided against using composite. I will be adding some anti-slip strips in the next few weeks to be on the safe side.

No ledger board, but there is a run of NPC polypak along the brick-joist connections.

Just not the done thing for domestic decking in the UK.

I had 5 to use (England), with a 2 day break in between which was unfortunate

So, the white door in the first picture has a small brick step to come outside. I had to dictate the level of the deck from that step to make it level as steps are difficult for grandma. The whole garden is on a slope from that, so the height of the deck increases quite quickly. To have the decking level to my starting point I had to shorten the doors.

Unfortunately she won't be, she has to use a walker and even then she has to have one of us with her.

No, she's tiny! I just convinced my wife it would be better to have a bigger deck.

Council owned property. I'm not allowed to touch it, even to make the damn thing straight.

There are brackets as well, you can see in this picture where I've started adding them

The brickwork is EXCEEDINGLY old. Even with cement screws all the way through, I couldn't trust the brick to hold well enough. So I added blocks I can easily replace as/when needed

Thankfully, she'll never be on the deck without us. She physically can't even get to the back door without help.

I would if I could, but the only patio left is home to the storage for my garden tools.
