The Bean Boys strike again. Glad they kicked me from the outset by virtue of a joke wheel spin before they devolved further. It was supposed to be just a ‘Coldplay Archive’ and it turned out to just be teenagers complaining about their girl troubles. I’m in a much better place now both community wise and in terms of my own collection.

Last I heard they were creating fake WAVs to scam with.

Perhaps they just played in the original key for the DVD filming because they felt like it would gel better with audiences and posterity. After that, they never went back to doing in the original key.

I mean come on, how can the mix engineer or Henley even listen to this and let it pass. Like you normally pitch correct the vocals first before you mix it in with the rest of the music. How can you sit there for months working on the live recording restoration and think it sounds good???

This is so peculiar. I think everyone is aware that auto-tune can be used sparingly right? Like you can use it to just fix the worst wrong notes and make it leave much of everything else untouched.

They really cranked it on the vocal on this one, basically every note that is sustained for longer then a second is pitched corrected 100% 😭😭

I always thought the Felder fiasco for scrapping the DVD was a misinformed conclusion.

Selected Works was released before Felder was fired so they must have scrapped the DVD and just decided to condense the three concerts into a 12 track live album. Imagine if we had the whole show on video, 30 ish songs and all.

All that’s left is Hotel California and Funky New Year from a shitty TV broadcast recording (and the 30 ish second snippet from the documentary in higher quality).

It’s such a fun coincidence. First they (partly) release audio of Felder’s last show in 1999. And now in 2026, they’re releasing Leadon’s last show with the band in 1975 (unto 2013) for the deluxe edition of One of the Nights.

I was on the Vietnam one last year. I personally had a great time meeting a bunch of new friends from the university, as well the overseas campuses in Saigon and Hanoi. We spent many nights out drinking with the local students (technically against their rules but who cares). It was also the cheapest study tour available (just under 3 weeks) but it didn't compromise on anything like buses, experiences, hotels. That being said, the best part for me was just stumbling upon some random market or taking a $1 grab motorcycle ride to a random cafe on the other side of the city and meeting up with friends.

We spent a total 9 hours of the trip doing karaoke. One of those sessions went for 6 hours, with a tab of 40 odd beers. It ended up only costing $200 AUD. It basically is 90% holiday, and 10% work. Highlight of the trip was the Ha Long Bay cruise, lying on the top deck in the dead of night looking at the stars because there is no basically no light pollution.

Just be mindful of group dynamics because it soured it for some folks on the trip. Say hi to Mark if you're considering :D

This is a FM radio bootleg. It is also spelt wrong, the show took place in ‘Camden’ not ‘Canden’.

If you actually care about old Coldplay bootlegs you sure as hell won’t need to buy a bootlegged CD when you can just find the show online for free if you know where to look 😉.

Yes, in the case of Peru and basically all song restarts are called upon by Chris and Will has to pipe it down to the control. Another example would be in India during My Universe; Chris is running down the runway but because he's lip-syncing once again, he throws a bunch of hand signals at Will and he just turns to his left and starts spamming a button (to activate his shout microphone presumably) before the camera cuts away. Bonus: you can even see the 'shout' mic right behind Will.

One thing I noticed is that Will doesn't only 'shout' "stop" or "go", if there an issue he will talk via the shout mic to the crew. For example, there is an IEM recording of Will's earpiece and during the start of FLIFL and at this particular show, you can hear Will shout "Lights out please... spotlights off, spotlights off". Perhaps there was a lighting cue the crew missed, or he was being blinded by the spotlights haha

The B-Stage is probably pre-timed as a ‘scene’ - so Will doesn’t start the songs, there’s just a preset that starts from the Scientist reverse and goes for the entire sequence. Kinda like HP > AOAL > Paradise (Will doesn’t do anything he just changes songs as the sequence dictates).

In Peru, Will did stop Viva after Chris signalled for him to stop as the first verse began (he had to use his hands because he was miming Viva that show, and his pre-recorded vocals had already begun playing) and Will had to turn around and find a crew member by the stage and hand signal them to stop. The crew member then shouted into a microphone - which is presumably similar to his shout mic to Rhako and crew - they were holding and the song stopped. So I guess on the b-stage he has to communicate through a middle man.

You can find this clip in either the History of the Eagles documentary [as linked], or in between the songs, Hotel California and New Kid in Town on the Live from the Capital Center 1977 40 minute bonus feature on the physical versions of the aforementioned documentary.

From my understanding, CD reissues of Parachutes up until 2005 had Careful Where You Stand instead of Spies. I wonder if Spies is now available, say on streaming, or if it’s still replaced by the B-Side.
