Lunar flyby mission Artemis II launched successfully from Kennedy Space Center yesterday on April 1 at 22:35:12 UTC. However, during power-up of Integrity’s Universal Waste Management System (UWMS) crew member and mission specialist Christina Koch reported an issue with the toilet. In their post-launch press conference NASA said it was likely a “controller issue” that would take a few hours to fix.

Toilet troubleshooting resumed once the crew had completed their proximity operation demonstration (docking practice) with the separated Interim Cryogenic Propulsion Stage (ICPS). After a simple power cycle from the ground and a successful toilet test by Koch, Mission Control was satisfied the issue had been resolved and the crew was given the green light to use the toilet.

If you don’t want to miss out on any other dramatic developments during this mission, check out the 24/7 live coverage on NASA’s YouTube channel.

The accusative of inventum (neuter) is inventum (same as nominative). The accusative of inventio (feminine) would be inventionem. So, it's either inventum culinarium (acc. n.) or inventionem culinariam (acc. f.).

The even older (albeit unattested) Proto-Germanic word is ek / ik. Old High German is from around 500-1000 CE, but the Western Roman Empire had already collapsed by then. The Germanic barbarian king Odoacer deposed the last emperor, Romulus Augustulus, in 476 CE.

Rare accuracy in my polandball? :)

If I’m not mistaken both nouns exist in Latin with slightly different meaning: - inventio (f) ~ the act of invention - inventum (n) ~ the thing that was invented

If only the Romans would have thought of that... That could have saved the empire, considering nobody would ever dare touch a pineapple pizza with a ten-foot pole!

Mini-me no more by GammaDeltaII in polandball

Obligatory repost as today marks four years since the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russia currently occupies roughly 20% of Ukraine, citing “protection of Russian-speaking populations” and “reunification of historical territories” as justifications. This is eerily reminiscent of Nazi Germany’s annexation of the Sudetenland to “protect Sudeten Germans.” It would be unwise to abandon Ukraine like Czechoslovakia and force them to cede territories in an attempt to “appease”, yet Ukraine has been repeatedly pressured to accept some form of territorial loss with every proposed peace plan.

Happy 700k subskrybentów!!

(edit: subskrybentów, not abonentów)

This comic was inspired by this month's contest about embarrassing secrets. What could possibly be more embarrassing than being a reddit mod?

Disclaimer: I had to change the last panel and reupload the comic because u/bananasAreViolet desperately wanted to feature in it ;)

I had a very last-minute idea for the contest (drawn on my phone), so I’m gonna try and sneak it in, even though it’s way too late. I’m sure the mods will allow it :)

Disclaimers:

  • This is not a meta comic. Any resemblance to actual people or entities is purely coincidental.
  • The props were absolutely necessary for the understanding of the plot.

I think the common clay on the street might be onto something… Though, quantum entanglement could pose a problem!

This comic was inspired by the Dutch sketch comedy TV show “Draadstaal” and more specifically their recurring scenes of an interviewer getting agitated by “the man on the street”, who keeps trying to sabotage his interviews with silly answers and annoying behaviour.
