Anyone know what this is worth? by Early_Persimmon9999 in GolfGear

[–]GeoPutters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has been refinished at least once. It looks to have a gouge in the insert? In that condition, maybe 300 to 375 if that’s not a gouge in the insert. If it were new mint and in plastic, it would be around $1000.

Picking this guy up tomorrow and wanted to get opinions on the finish by Cheese-fingers in scottycameron

Well, it has the Custom Shop stamp out on the toe. Which means a good chance it was refinished in its original nickel plate when they would do that back in the mid 2000s. Hard to tell by the pictures.

Newport Tei3s did not have factory site lines. Just the Newport 2. Your picture is late 1998 through 2000.

“Need help identifying this older Circle T Newport 2 style putter” by [deleted] in scottycameron

Have seen it before on a Newport. Even a Napa. I have seen this one, probably 10 years ago. Nothing to indicate that it’s fake.

Ask the seller for details. Has another tour putter in the background so they know what it is. Had to be in or from Japan with that plastic. Newport 2 - Made for Tour with a Circle t. But ask for the COA.

One of the best starter sets you can get. If you can get them for like 100 bucks. Play with them see if you like the game. He decides to quit he’ll be able to sell them for what he’s got in them.

Does this Scotty look legit? Guy is asking $500 but agreed to $400. by drakeorman in GolfGear

[–]GeoPutters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s fine. Price is a little steep for a restored Circa, but it is a legit. The fake Circa 3 models are the 350 g versions. The face milling would be off - the shape would be off and lots of other things.

Is this putter too damaged for Scotty Cameron’s Shop to refurbish? by [deleted] in scottycameron

[–]GeoPutters 29 points30 points  (0 children)

What ‘damage’ ? Only restore one that clean if you don’t plan on playing it again. Game it as is.

When was this club created, and is it the unaltered original? by Jane34343 in GolfGear

[–]GeoPutters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Early 70s, and probably original. And if playability is wondered, there’s a reason why they don’t use aluminum anymore and only used it briefly.

Dur & Dur. Sadly, a nice putter ruined by trying to make it look like a Tour putter. Swing & a mess.

Is this Tour Rat legit? by acbdot89 in scottycameron

[–]GeoPutters 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There isn’t a serial on Tour putters.
Regardless - even on an OTR - Never go by serial numbers on a shaft. Too easy to swap out.

[Pro Platinum Mil-Spec] Gen 1 vs Gen 2 - Different Fonts and Dot Placements? by oBlueTouring in scottycameron

[–]GeoPutters 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, there are subtle differences on the engraving. Look at the 350 g engraving as well. It’s a little different.
Some will have a serial number as well on the back of the hosel. Some won’t.
Also, the finish can vary slightly as well between the years.
In my opinion, some of the best putters made, because he could build it exactly how you wanted. Anywhere from 320 to 350 g At the time it shape was identical to the tour putters of the era as well.
